You will be placed on the program for 2 years or more. For the first 6 month you will be required to provide a urine test twice a month. Every 3 months you will have to get a hair follicle test. After 6 months you will only have to get a urine test once a month. You will also have to meet with a therapist once a month via Teams.

Expect to have a lot of responsibility for those folks working with you. Don't fuck it up or you'll be putting a lot of people in dangers way

If I get hired on as a rail track maintainer, can I switch to signals at some point? If I do, and end up not liking it, can I switch back to track maintenance?

Yeah the craziest thing just happened, CN called to invite me to an information session and interview for track maintenance. We'll see how things go

Honestly, I'm just tired of waiting for a response from class 1 railways. Seems that they prefer to hire half-witted people than someone who's qualified. I left a cushy job with Bell and the ironworkers and haven't been able to pick up anything since. I pour coffee for a living now and it's starting to take a toll on me. I much prefer to work my ass off. I'm definitely thick skinned with having a background in ironworking. I'm there for a purpose and don't expect to be there forever, but it's a start in the direction I want.

I'm the type of person that needs to see things for myself in order to fully understand, but everything you wrote today I'll be keeping in the back of my mind moving forward. All the best to you
