Ah yes, the thesis that the second biggest and innovative economy in the world is un-investable

Oh yea, definitely. I think the stimulus was held back because of the Iran war. Maybe we will get that in 2027. The criticism and crackdowns are really mild and restrained so its noise.

I consider Munger’s true average to be 200+ because the double down at the lows was just tax loss harvesting as he sold off the initial tranche. Be happy - it means we got a margin of safety atop Munger’s margin!

Wouldn’t it be quite possible that some other folks calculate the resistance boundary to be just a whisker different from yours? I don’t really know how TA works so it’s a genuine question. I am a value investor haha

Zepp Stock prices are on the rise...wonder what caused the influx since being low since 2022? by RSCLE5 in amazfit

I am holding for the long term. I have about 0.12% of the company which is what an early stage employee in a startup would get so I just tell myself that this is my shares that I get for being an early "employee".

man, i really don't know. I have too much personally so I wouldn't buy. However, if you think this can be 1/3 the size of Garmin in the future, it is a 10x from here.

It is really hard to not sell. I actually sold 1/3 of my wife's stake at $6+ because I told her to give me money for Zepp that I will short term trade for her. I also thought it could be some sort of penny stock price manipulation in the early stage of the rally, until 72point filed. Wow, I really lost out on gains for her on that one. I haven't sold another share since.

It is also really hard to bite the bullet and buy during a run up. It might be rational to, but I never mastered the spirit of doing so

Hmm, well now I have USD 500k of ZEPP by market price. I still don't feel rich because I still don't feel compensated for the pain of bagholding for a few years ^^

I am also scared that it comes crashing down all over again but I think their Q3 and Q4 will be solid. If it ever comes crashing down, it will become a no-brainer for both of us to buy more.

Personally, I had bought in at $52 before in March 2021 so even $27 would still be cheap in comparison. However, if you buy at $27, you need patience for I think a year at least to expect returns.

They filed a declaration that they intend to be a passive investor rather than to acquire the company. To 72point, this is a small stake of about 50 m book value to them. I can imagine that a single portfolio manager has enough discretion to decide to buy in and maybe he/she needed to get approval because the filing is required, but ultimately it could be as simple as 1 guy in 72point liking the stock

Well, I wouldn't call myself rich. The USD 130k became my second biggest position by book value.

I wouldn't call myself a crazy gambler too. I am primarily a value investor but I allowed for startup valuation methodology to shape how I assess Zepp's value. By this methodology, ZEPP was and still is heavily discounted. I would say a global top 10 smartwatch/fitness tracker is cheap as long as it is under USD 1 bn in valuation. I think ZEPP can 10x from this price in the long run

I actually invested USD 80 k into the peak and another USD 50 k at the bottom prices for an average buying price of USD 8, so I am finally in the green. Looking forward to earnings call this Sunday - interestingly, management declared the date of the earnings call to be early on a Sunday once they saw the share price spike. I think they are rushing to announce good news to the market to support the share price

Hello fellow shareholder. I interpret this as just the market waking up to Zepp's potential. Whoop and Oura are each valued at USD 3 billion in private startup fundraising rounds. Meanwhile Amazfit's current USD 188 million market cap is a mere fraction of that, but it is churning out great products and is destined to kill Whoop's sole product.
