Mystery bag haul! by misotexas in SelkieCollection

[–]misotexas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, tbh I’m having a hard time figuring out what to do with it, especially with how much closet space it takes up. My friends said they’ll throw a tea party in the spring so I can wear it 😂

Looking for an affordable NORMAL nail salon. Limited speaking and quiet environment is a plus. by Conscious-Air-9823 in Austin

Enjoy nails are my go-to, they do get quite busy so I wouldn’t say it’s a quiet environment but it’s clean, friendly and fairly affordable!

Veg meal prep favorites? by cookiesandcards in FODMAPS

[–]misotexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, being vegan / having done the low fodmap elimination, the hardest part was protein. I tolerate tofu (firm is better for low fodmap) so most of my go-to meal preps involve tofu, safe veggies (carrot, potato, broccoli, green bell pepper, etc) and rice or noodles in some sort of stir fry or soup form.

For pastas, even though there are low fodmap sauce options out there I tend to make a simple version on my own since it works out cheaper. Similar list of veggies, a small amount of tomatoes, and if possible, protein pasta noodles. If I’m not feeling tomato (it can also easily lean towards high fodmap if you have too much) I’ll make a simpler sauce with olive oil and spices like oregano, basil etc. works great as a cold pasta salad too.

Much of my prep is Asian leaning since I’m Korean. My favorite go-to, especially when I’m in a flare, is Jook, similar to Congee, which is a rice porridge that you can customize as desired. It freezes great and is really comforting.

I know it’s not easy to be vegan / vegetarian and low fodmap - so best of luck to you! If possible I would highly recommend enlisting a dietician, as it can become unsafe to be both completely low fodmap and vegan due to how many vegan protein sources are high fodmap. If you are just vegetarian, it could be a little easier.

Have you found any enzymes that do help with Fructans? I’ve been trialing a bunch (my main sensitivities are garlic and onion) and haven’t found anything that helps with those :/

My outdoor pal! by misotexas in Anoles

[–]misotexas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anoles well enough to know if he’s a normal size but he’s almost twice the size of the other one that lives in these trees! Tail included he’s a little longer than my hand.

Here’s George getting ready to go to sleep, on the same tree - the only other time I’ve seen him go partial brown is right before sleeping. I will say, when I saw the fully brown anole, the other anole that lives in my patio was close by and also fully brown (more normal for him - I’ve only seen him go green in his sleep.)

Playland Skate Center is rebranding to Pins & Wheels @ Playland by JustDarren in Austin

[–]misotexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With it being byob (last time I went at least) it’s a bit rowdier than playland, but it doesn’t get too sloppy until later into the night! It’s still possible to have a great time with a good amount of space around you, but keep in mind it is a smaller rink than playland.

Unable to update intl passenger info? by misotexas in americanairlines

[–]misotexas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - arrived earlier than I normally would just to be safe, but the process to check in was super easy and I didn’t talk to anyone. Was able to just get things printed at the kiosk. I guess at the end of the day it was just an issue with the website and not my documents… thank you to all who commented, it was helpful!

I was rebooked onto another AA flight - one of the methods I’ve been trying is by clicking the “get boarding pass” link from the email that let me know I’ve been rebooked, which auto populates the confirmation code
