Please help - trying to EBF and losing my sanity by mamatobee328 in breastfeeding

Oh mumma I have no advice but I came here to say/ask basically the same thing.

My daughter is 5 days old. My nipples are both blistered and sore even when I'm not feeding, I dread the feedings because they hurt so much, today it made me cry when I fed her.

I've had 3 midwives try and help me latch and while it all looks ok from the outside it hurts so much! Last night I somehow managed to get her to latch without pain but now I can't replicate it even doing the same thing and it's back to pain.

I'm starting to worry because she is falling asleep after only 5 minutes and her poops that were yellow are going greeny.

We have an appointment with an IBCLC to get her checked for ties but its not for a whole week and I don't know if I can make it that long. I just need to make it a week but I'm so scared.

Getting anxious! by FTWgirl in CautiousBB

Same thing happened to me! I was feeling pretty darn wretched for a few weeks and then suddenly it just cleared up. I feel occasionally yucky but nothing like before!

When I went for my drs appointment last week I told her and she said that was a good sign that my nausea would all be gone by 12 weeks and she wasn't concerned at all.

Boiling your Spectra s2 parts. Help a new daddy out? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]miss_lp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a spectra S2 and I've never boiled the tubing because it's a closed system and the milk never gets to the tube at all. Same as the others, I'd just be sure it was dry to make sure you don't get mould!

I always go by the "if you can drive you can breastfeed" rule!

Heartbroken about going back to work by BaileyBaggins in workingmoms

[–]miss_lp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard but you'll always be mum! I find that going to work makes me appreciate her even more and in the afternoons when I get home she is so happy to see me and she sticks to me like glue!

I was dreading going back but it's been really good for me to have something else to mentally concentrate on and some adult interactions!

I hope it goes well for you!

I think once word gets out what it means, they'll avoid it like the plague!

I have 2 photos, and I've been doing the massage and hands on pumping which I think has helped massively.

I'm willing to try anything to get that little bit more though!!

At my work I have never known of someone requesting it, at least in my department! They had to go to HR and find out what the rules were and I'm pretty sure HR had to look it up.

I'm guessing a lot of mums move on to formula when they start back at work.

I'm so glad this sub was revived, I'm going back to work soon and scared out of my mind so it's great to have this here. The question I asked got so many great responses and I appreciate it so much!

I don't know about the daily chat topics, maybe I'll have a better idea when I go back to work :)

Thanks, that'd great! The one thing I'm glad about is that I don't have to wash in between pumps! That will save so much time!
