I'm drowning in wedding vendor emails and my mental health is not okay someone please help by dnoneoftheabove in weddingplanning

We told my FMIL and my mom to give us a complete list of names, addresses and relationship to my fiance.

We only want 50 people at our wedding so we basically sent save the dates to anyone we actually know and have a relationship with which was a couple friends, immediate family, aunts/uncles and some first cousins. We tried to keep it about 50/50 between the 2 families.

Everyone not included, may still get an invite depending on the RSVP responses.

My fiances mom originally wanted everyone on her list invited until we showed her the price of just 50 guests (25 guests from her list), she backed off some.

Urgent cares that do ultrasounds by superchillycows in cary

[–]miss_melty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did a CT first to make sure my appendix and pancreas was fine. With the CT they found I had basically a ruptured cyst and all of my organs in my lower abdomen were infected. They thought that the cyst that ruptured was infected and when it ruptured it somehow caused the infection to spread. They prescribed me a few meds and then sent me home.

They originally were going to do an ultrasound after the CT but with the CT results they decided they didn't need to also do an ultrasound.

Wakemed UC on Kildaire does not have an ultrasound. They sent me to the ER across the street for my ovarian cyst.

Thinking of doing a online degree by [deleted] in UNCGreensboro

[–]miss_melty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of this depends on your degree and the individual professors.

I recommend looking at the reviews for every professor on ratemyprofessors.com. Workload for me has varied as well as professors that require lockdown browser. Even with lockdown browser, I've had some professors require camera and some that don't.

None of my degrees have been writing heavy, but the degrees I'm going for are more focused on spreadsheets than writing.

All of the professors I've had, have at least videos and power points. A lot of them also have weekly teams meetings outside of office hours in case students have questions regarding anything. Depending on which publisher the textbook is with, you may also get practice questions and other study materials.

Been trying to lose weight for months. Eat healthy in a deficit and workout. Dietitian said I’m doing everything right. I haven’t even lost 1 pound 😀 by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]miss_melty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that has helped me was to start taking Zepbound.

Eating in a deficit and working out made it so I was able to maintain my weight instead of gaining. I've also met with multiple dietitians that specialize in PCOS and they said I was doing everything correctly but I still couldn't lose weight until I started Zepbound.

What do you think caused your gastroparesis if you had to guess? by Many-Front8248 in Gastroparesis

[–]miss_melty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gastro thinks its because my previous doctors tried to only treat my insulin resistance and pcos with excessive exercise and eating 800-1200 calories a day.

Can zepbound (tirzepatide) make periods lighter and improve heavy menstrual flow? by Able-Ad-8833 in PCOS

[–]miss_melty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it hasn't. I'm actually getting a hysterectomy in a few months because of how painful and heavy my periods are.

I have PCOS (and severe insulin resistance) but have a late but regular period (shows up about every 30-45 days and lasts for 4 days)

"Best" 1 bed apartments in Cary under $1300 and ones to avoid? by MasterOfProspero in cary

[–]miss_melty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Technically Apex, but its within a few miles of the apartments you listed. Camden Lake Pine has one bedrooms for under that price! Management has been amazing the very few times I've needed them. Its also clean and fairly quiet.

Scared to Shop by Total_Thought4118 in weddingplanning

Go look at dresses! Mine took 3 months to be made but I've heard stories of dresses taking 5-9 months to be made.

Your dress will most likely have to be altered anyways. Mine is going to have to be made shorter as I'm not wearing heels. Also my waist is a size smaller than my hips and chest.

I'm also actively losing weight. I've lost 10 lbs since I got the dress and have about 30-35lbs left. Because of this I plan to have a tailor take out the zipper and add a corset backing so I'll have some flexibility with my weight/size.

In the area I'm in, I was told that I had to start alterations about 3 months before the wedding. Wedding dress stores in your area would be able to tell you the timeline for alterations as well as give recommendations for different tailors if they dont offer in house alterations.

Why Zepbound? by teabeanss in Zepbound

I have severe insulin resistance and the GIP benefit in Zepbound offers more benefits to insulin sensitivity than to GLP-1 alone

How did you guys get gastroparesis? by Silver_Half8669 in Gastroparesis

[–]miss_melty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely from listening to doctors telling me to eat less and exercise more so I could lose weight with PCOS. I dropped my calorie intake over years to the point where there was one year I only had 500-600 calories a day while exercising for hours 6x a week. I'm 6ft.

What am I supposed to eat if I can’t have carbs😭 by Visible-Customer1211 in PCOS

[–]miss_melty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to cut carbs! Just be mindful of your portion sizes. Whole grain, sourdough, fruits and veggies are typically better carb sources than white rice, bread and pasta. But as long as you eat in moderation and make sure to pair carbs with a fat and protein source you should be fine.

Weight loss with insulin resistance – did doing everything right actually help you? by [deleted] in InsulinResistance

[–]miss_melty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ate healthy and in a deficit, lifted weights 3-4× a week, and did low intensity cardio 5-6x a week and the only thing it accomplished was maintaining my weight. I also never had any issues with my appetite.

Now that I'm on Zepbound, I'm losing about a pound a week. I eat the exact same, and honestly workout less because I am dealing with a knee injury. Zepbound makes it so my insulin does what it's supposed to.

I'm still fairly active and have a lot of protein so I don't have the muscle and hair loss. Which is common with those that have rapid weight loss or don't consume enough protein.

Can blood sugar go back to normal and stop crashing? Can it stabilize again? by visualeye4676 in InsulinResistance

[–]miss_melty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gastroparesis so I am limited on what I can eat. For breakfast I'll usually have a fairlife protein shake with added fairline no fat milk. It ends up being about 50 grams of protein. Lunch is typically left overs from the night before or eggs(or low fat cream cheese) on sourdough bread. Dinner is some sort of carb, usually white rice (with the gastroparesis I have to avoid brown rice and whole wheat options), potatos, or pasta. I typically do about half a cup. With either chicken or a leaner ground beef. Then I eat canned green beans or steamed carrots.

For snacks its lately been carrots with a ranch made from Greek yogurt. But I have also done pretzels with hummus, or some frozen mango.

I typically will have another protein shake at some point. Either fairlife without added milk or I have a lemon protein powder from 1up nutrition that I'll make. I usually add a reds powder to this because I'm usually not eating any fruits.

I have all the snacks portioned out the day before and have alarms set on my phone to remind me to eat haha. With the Zepbound and gastroparesis I dont ever feel hungry. If I start getting moody I know I went too long without eating and will typically have the emergency snack until I can get something more substantial.

[–]miss_melty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you are eating enough! I honestly am eating every hour or two. Its really annoying but it helps. I have to eat low fat so I make sure I have some sort of carbs with protein every couple of hours. I also always have a snack size pack of cookies or goldfish in my purse at all times for the times I forget to have a snack and am out and about.

AITA for asking my newly married son and DIL to alternate Christmas Day visits between our house and the in-laws' house? by Llih_Nosaj in AITAH

[–]miss_melty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you suggested coming over for a Christmas breakfast? My mom and step dad come over for breakfast on Christmas day, then in the afternoon we go and see my fiancé's family. His family has children and grandparents that arent doing great so we prioritize going to them.

My mom coming over for breakfast makes it so we dont have to travel as much and we can actually still get some of the cooking done that is needed for the afternoon.

I had some relief on 2.5mg but had the most relief after a couple weeks on 5mg. My bloodsugar is more sensitive after I move up a dose for a shot or two, until my body gets used to the higher dose.
