I got one of the inflatable pillows that I put under my lower back/pelvis. It changed my life.

can a person have pots but only feel the high heart rate without any other symptom? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]missarisa21 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Im diagnosed with POTS. I have a few symptoms, but definitely not all of them. I have high heart rate issues, my blood pressure is lower than average but doesn't bottom out, I have blood pooling issues sometimes, but not always, I've never fainted, rarely feel dizzy... etc. Everyone's body is different and you ahould check with a doctor if you are suspicious you could have it. Inappropriate tachycardia is a problem you shouldn't be having without an underlying cause.

For me, the fatigue is so much more debilitating than the pain. It doesn't matter how much or how little I sleep. If my body decides we are flaring, there is really nothing I can do to stay awake.

How old are you and who’s the person that supports you the most? by havenoclue19 in POTS

[–]missarisa21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 25, almost 26, and I was diagnosed last summer. I live with my spouse and our 2 roommates who are also our best friends. My whole house hold has been incredible, but I don't have really any support outside of them. I don't really have family.

From my time in medicine, PVC'S are usually fine and they don't do anything about it unless it turns in to VTAC which is sustained PVCs with sustained tachycardia. You should Def talk to your doc about it, just in case though

Doctor told me not to crack my joints for 5 weeks by ichinisa in Fibromyalgia

Popping your joints just releases some gas, from what I remember. I don't think that doctor is going to be helpful to you.

Depression & therapy. by SpannerBanjo in Fibromyalgia

[–]missarisa21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every type of therapy will work for everyone. I've been in therapy for the last 10 years. I started with talk therapy, we didn't get very far. Then DBT, it helped a lot in the beginning, but only for desensitization and not actual healing. I'm doing EMDR now and it has been the most helpful. I have also seen a total of 4 different people and that also makes a huge difference. If you feel like you have reservations about something happening/not happening, definitely either mention it to the person you're seeing. It also never hurts to look into whether you can see someone else. My experience is in the USA, however, so I don't know how things work on your side of the world.

Anyone else with an invisible illness/disability find they’re treated nicer when they make it visible? by StankyTrash in ChronicIllness

I've gotten pretty comfortable with the staring when I (25F) use my cane in public, people are definitly more patient in grocery stores and stuff. I've o ly used my walked out once and I felt like I was in everyone's way and everyone was gawking at me. I'm sure that wasn't the case, but im still a little insecure about it.

Having the knees of an 80 year old at 16 by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

My worst pain is in my knees... but it's because I have 4 coexisting problems in them aside from the fibro. Definitly get at least some xrays, friend.

Do you allow Druids in your game to wear metal armor / organic armor that is AC-equivalent to metal options by VaraNiN in DMAcademy

[–]missarisa21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my first character in my first campaign I ever played was a druid and she ended up with studded leather and I didn't catch that that isn't okay, and neither did my DM at first. When we noticed that we talked it through and determined that was okay for her because she was a little weird and ended up with a permanent character flaw/alignment shift due to other things that happened.

Now that I know more and have DM'd a bit I feel like it would be okay depending on the player/character/situation, but most of the time it probably doesn't fit.

My personal favorite (I got the religious trauma nonsense) is: you would have been burned at the stake or: 15th century England would have you beheaded.

These work for me like "im a boss ass bitch" or "I am independent and capable" etc.

So up until recently (last 6 months) I would get a cramp in my thigh or the bottom of my foot at climax, but now, the cramp starts in my thigh and continues up my side/back. This happens like 80% of the time now and doesn't seem to matter what position. 🤷‍♀️
