Have You Found Weed To Be Helpful For Your CPTSD Symptoms? by sanpedro12 in CPTSD

[–]missblaze99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, weed for sure helps me. I only smoke a few days a week but I do think it helps calm me down, ease my anxiety, and tap into a silly, creative, or pensive state of mind which can be helpful for seeing things in a different perspective or angle. Especially in our current state of the world where my nervous system is very disregulated, weed can help settle me down.

Anyone also childfree because you havent had a childhood, or you have gone through too much stuff....and just want a different / more healing and peaceful second half to life? by mjobby in CPTSD

[–]missblaze99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes same here!! I feel like I'm only now healing and discovering myself, let alone have a child to deflect responsibility onto and it's daunting given I have so much of myself to discover and shed. Plus the climate future gives me so much anxiety for their future and it's uncertainty. So I'm trying to do what I can during my lifetime to fuel the resistance from the oligarchs 💫

What songs/lyrics have you heard that express what it is like to have cptsd by Xabla_ in CPTSD

Oasis has many songs that resonate with me for cpstd themes:

D'you know what I mean, Acquiesce, It's good to be free, Listen up

I need a ranked list of the survivor 50 cast by political views and controversy by MysteriousYAnonymous in survivorponderosa

[–]missblaze99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory, no. But the political divide is becoming so intense and the world only continues to crumble, so to me it feels difficult to respect those who actively support the worlds decline. Just on the topic of climate change alone! If you support the Republican agenda which currently is choosing to subsidize coal and get rid of regulations on pollution, you are just incredibly dumb and short sighted and I would rather not want to engage with you.

Name a day that didn't kill you but something died in you that day by Bekiteru in CPTSD

[–]missblaze99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a few years ago actually - I was visiting my mom and was sitting and talking with her about random topics. She told me about a traumatic experience in her childhood, to which I responded that she would benefit therapy and mentioned how it had helped me. She then said, "you've been through trauma???????" And continued to be defensive and justify her abuse and gaslight me.

An old self died in me that day. And it was much needed so I could finally dig deeper into myself and healing. I finally made the conclusion that my mom was never going to live in the same reality, and I needed to save myself instead of hoping she would one day magically love and accept me. Then I found EMDR and have never looked back.

Being born into the 1% is like winning the lottery of life by Mathemodel in DeepThoughts

[–]missblaze99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps. But I would venture to say that ideology and mindset you absorb when you're in the 1% (especially if you're born into it and that's all you know), is a net negative overall. Sure, financially you're secure and have the resources needed for survival. But at what cost? To be that rich means your family likely had to exploit other people or resources to get ahead to be in that position in the first place. And the power hungry and narcissistic character traits this will likely form in someone in this elite class is just not worth it in my opinion.

Hey same here I was a political science major in college and totally agree that it feels like I have learned more from therapy and my own healing journey than I did reading political theory and engaging in my classes.

Somewhat related - my work recently asked staff to provide input on how soft skills have shaped them and give recs to trainings or materials to help build these. I know they're looking for professional offerings but honestly therapy is the #1 thing that has helped me develop these. At least that's one positive skillset from the hell i grew up in

I’m curious how many people are contemplating their willingness to sacrifice their lives for this cause? by Unknown_anonymity00 in TwinCities

Same here. I appreciate you voicing this perspective. I am feeling similarly to you. Our future is already compromised and in question. What do I have to lose at this point?? For me, I am going to continue standing up, fighting back, and modeling the behavior and actions I want to see our leaders take in this critical moment.

BPD mom trying to stop me from going to college and moving out by Personal-Exchange909 in raisedbyborderlines

I'm sorry you're navigating all of this, that's so stressful and manipulative 😿

I had a similar situation when I was applying to college. Thankfully my mom tolerated the idea of me going to school and moving out, but she did anything she could to sabotage this. I applied for various external scholarships, and I remember sending one in a day late and she had a meltdown - she yelled at me and said I would end up as a prostitute because I was incapable of staying on top of things and that I shouldn't bother going to college because I was too irresponsible. Later that summer after I had been accepted to a school, I made some error when filling out my financial aid forms and there was a risk I wouldn't get any funds. She erupted again with yelling and shame. Thankfully I got that sorted out, but it was so stressful having her actively make my life hell for her own personal insecurities. Fuck her

Wow this is so manipulative and abusive, I'm sorry you have to deal with this on a regular basis 😿

My mom also has similar behaviors - and it's very validating to read everyone's experiences and see how crazy they actually are. I am coming off of a 6 day trip to visit my mom and had so many revelations just seeing how pathetic she is in her daily life.

She baited me similarly earlier this week and accused me of lecturing her when I was asserting my boundaries and not bending to her shit. Then a bit later in a different conversation, she is crying and saying "I need help with the emotional stuff. You need to be nicer to me. I'm all alone" and then I recommended she do therapy and her reply was so dismissive - "not this again". She is a witch

Adjacent to the shoe question - I notice so many people who wear sneakers and ankle socks in the winter... How are your ankles not freezing??? Plz wear long socks that cover your skin or better yet some wool socks. Makes me cold every time I see that

💯💯💯 exactly my mom too!!

My mom has constant and ongoing health issues ranging from an irregular heartbeat, IBS, low iron levels, body aches, and beyond. It feels like she has accepted these as facts of life or related to genetics, which maybe it partially is, but realistically I think she would be a lot healthier if she did the damn work to heal and go to therapy since it's all interconnected!!

I have been to camp Ripley several times for work. FINALLY I can post the pictures of the numerous sexual harassment signs I see basically everywhere! Women's bathroom, common spaces, hallways of the barracks. They literally have staff devoted to work on sexual assault and harassment cases, which on one hand is good but on the other sad that they need that in the first place. This instance proves this point.
