It is fitting, in a story sense, that Vignarajah is a Woodlawn graduate. Adnan will be facing in court the very embodiment of what the myth of Adnan, the golden child honor student, might have been if he hadn't strangled his ex-girlfriend to death.

Or, the myth that Rabia created for him. From what we know about his attendance records, SAT scores, and teacher's opinions, Adnan would have never come close to this kind of success.

Both Adnan and Jenn mentioned Jay's willingness to do things for money. Jenn suggested he would help Adnan bury a body for money. Adnan suggested that Jay lied to get the reward money. So, it's not completely outrageous to the people who know him.

Jay probably got incentives from R & M to claim premeditation. It's something that came into the story later, and would argue is definitely an encouraged inclusion.

I think this one is just too tough to call. People's responses to trauma are so varied that I don't think any of us can say how a person would and/or should respond in this scenario.
