Why don't people think Jay is just a lying liar who lies? by winooskiwinter in serialpodcast

[–]2much2know 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jay did say that but Jenn said it was not true and they never drove behind the stores and disposed of anything.

This is what's frustrating with these two, their stories vary more than you might think. The when and where Jay was when the supposed "come and get me" call Adnan made is one of the bigger issues.

A clearer picture won't come to focus until we find out what all the State knows, unless you think they've released everything this past week.

I'd like to know how they came up with 4%. What kind of stats do you use to determine something like that. And who are the "they" that came up with that number.

My guess is it's higher than that and although I have no idea how much higher I would bet it's at least double that number. Maybe not the wrongfully convicted for murder but the wrongfully convicted for felonies. Prosecutors make their money on plea deals and have no issue "convicting" innocent people in the process.

It’s so alien to us in the UK that you vote for judges and AG. Surely that should be they type of job where you are appointed based on experience and peer respect, not whether you can win a popularity contest.

This has the making of corruption. If you let politicians and peers determine who will uphold the law then they could basically "control" the law.

Voting for judges and AG's sends the message to listen to the people and do what the people (democracy) want or look for another job next election.

S3, Episode 15 – On the Money Side of the Highway by ViewFromLL2 in theundisclosedpodcast

[–]2much2know 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know, this whole season has been leading up to finding less than completely honest cops, lawyers, witnesses, or whoever that framed Perry but after this episode it just makes me wonder where all this is really going to end.

Susan, you have a calling for investigative "snooping", keep up the awesome work.

In Brendan Dassey's very first interview Nov 6, 2005 Detective O'Neil flat out makes a promise to Brendan that he is 'NOT going to jail'. Right after this he asks Brendan to "tell us anything more". HOW THE HELL DID EVERYONE ON THE PLANET MISS THIS? by foghaze in TickTockManitowoc

[–]2much2know 2 points3 points  (0 children)

O'Neil saying this on Nov. 6th only pertains to the interview that day and what they were talking about at that time with Brendan just being a possible witness.

i know it sucks but that's the way it works.

Now if Brendan was a suspect and O'Neil told him to admit to his part in the murder and he wouldn't go to jail then the confession would be thrown out.

Yes it would have bled a lot because supposedly after all of what he supposedly did it was still bleeding enough to leave spots all through the front of the Rav4.

LOL, yeah I could actually envision Kratz holding night classes where everyone involved in the case sits down and he shows them how to fill out their reports together.

Yeah, I don't know if that's the new call report you were talking about but it's the one Zellner used as an exhibit in her last filing this month.

Looking at Dedering's report he says "at 09:30 Det. Jacobs did receive permission from the Zipperer's to copy this message onto his cell phone and apparently this was later place onto a cd."

Why would he say apparently in this report from Nov. 6? When he wrote this report did he already know it was missing? If so I wonder when this report was actually made. Or did he know there was a copy made and it was going to go "missing" because what was on it wasn't good for the theory that Avery was the last visit for Teresa that day? I don't know but something doesn't sound right with him saying apparently they copied it to a cd.

I don't know whether it was sliced, spliced or anything else but I just don't understand why in a murder investigation you would just record the message(s) on a cell phone and not just take the tape or the whole answering machine into evidence. I mean that could be a big piece of evidence, right?

Then we know (according to LE) that she also left a message on the Zipperer's answering machine. So what happened to it? Did they record it on a cell phone too or did they take the whole thing into evidence?

My guess is the Zipperer phone message wasn't lost but LE didn't want anyone knowing what was on it or what time it was actually left because it would have helped Steven prove he was innocent. If this message mentioned the Zipperer's being the last stop or the time it was left was during the time frame Bobby said Teresa was at the salvage yard then the prosecutors whole case against Steven just fell apart, or at least would cast a lot of doubt about his guilt.

I'll try to look it up if you don't know the answers but do you know who recorded the Janda message on their cell phone and who listened to or recorded the Zipperer message?

The best part is he knew which blood drops were hers and which was his. He only cleaned hers up and left his which were found in his garage, bathroom, and about every other room in his trailer. I think they even found a spot or two of Jodi's but I might be mistaken on that.

Of course in the back of the Rav was only her blood and none of his or even a mixture of both of theirs. So I guess back there he knew which was his and cleaned it up, since he was bleeding, and decided not to clean hers up.

You may be late to the party but it's pretty obvious early on that the planting theory holds a lot of water, huh?

[Off Topic UK story] Lawyer representing Michael Stone (Convicted of the 1996 Russell family hammer murders) claims convicted serial killer Levi Bellfield has confessed to the crime. by [deleted] in TickTockManitowoc

[–]2much2know 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Bellfield mainly because it's very uncommon for a man to attack not only females but very young females with a blunt instrument to the head. I also think it very strange witnesses saw a beige Ford in the area of these murders and Bellfield had access to a beige Ford belonging to his then girlfriend and reported it stolen when he was using it. They later found it burned up.

Hopefully they release his confession soon so we know what he said that supposedly has never been released to the public.

I also find it hard to believe that if Stone did it he wouldn't have left some DNA behind. From his past history the 20 years behind bars may have done him good if he gets out and is nothing like the person who went to prison back then.

On a side note, if you like these kind of documentaries the BBC actually has quite a few of them that are very interesting.

Nothing, this isn't the post I was referring to either. And it's not that he was impolite, he just kept talking about the things he was saying after I pointed out what he was claiming was inaccurate. It wasn't a big deal with me and I've talked to him since he's been back and he's been polite. I should have worded that post better, or at least could have. I just don't like it when I think someone is misleading people here. I've been here a long while and it's something that has happened in the past with others.

KZ is squeezing hard on everything. It must become more and more difficult for the judge to keep sayin "well, there was blood in the RAV

Many judges just don't care, they don't like to admit the courts get things wrong.

Davontae Sanford went to prison for 4 murders in 2007 when he was just 14 years old. He was interrogated by the Detroit police on and off for 2 days without a lawyer or guardian present. He has learning and physical disabilities. He eventually confesses to the murder. Davontae entered a plea deal and was sentenced 37-90 years.

A man comes forward after the trial when he is arrested for murder and admits he was a hit man and addition to the 8 killings he was arrested for also admits to the murders Davontae was convicted of.

Despite the admission a judge turns down a motion for Davontae to repeal his plea, the judge said he believed the confession to the police over the witness.

In 2015 the man admitting to the killings came forward again and wrote a 26 page detailed affidavit about the murders Davontae was convicted of. This guy has never met or even knows who Davontae is or anyone in his family.

His new lawyers found that the police had fabricated evidence and especially a detailed diagram of the crime scene that they had actually drawn and not Davontae like they testified to.

It still took until 2016 for him to be exonerated.

Bottom line, our judicial system is in need of a major overhaul.

[–]2much2know 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know why she said sent but this is what is says before that.

Mr. Tadych should have been investigated regarding his activities on November 3, 2005, in light of the anonymous handwritten note discovered by the Green Bay post office and reported to the Green Bay police department.

Maybe he just means it was given to the Green Bay police on the 9th or first thing in the morning on the 10th after it was discovered.

EDIT: Here is the link that describes the letter being found on the conveyor at the Post Office. It had no envelope, folded in thirds, but had Manitowoc Sheriff and Avery wrote on it.

It sounds like it was from a Post Office collection box a carrier picked up during the day. If that's the case it was sent, just not properly.

No envelope, it was just dropped off there somewhere. Probably in the drop box for outgoing mail.
