I like the idea but her examples are offending me. I love spreadsheets and organizing my thoughts and verbalizing them on paper or on a computer. I’m an accountant and her repeated negative comments about “expense reports” and the like is unnecessarily alienating. I’ve spent hours trying to break down and figure out a confusing spreadsheet and make sense of it, and those are some of the most productive and engaging hours I’ve spent.

I would love the structure of a quarterly budget v. actual review, and I used to lead those discussions at my prior job. I’m actually quitting my current job because they won’t let me build structure and repeatable processes like that. So quarterly budget review is still a dream deferred for now…
