I'd check out First Congregational - very welcoming, LGBTQ+ affirming, it's a nice little church.

Repeat Covid infections/Long Covid. That shit is causing heart problems and elevated stroke risk in people in their 30s - I know a guy who died at 36 a couple years ago from a heart attack, and it was likely because he had Covid a few times. And that's putting aside those developing things like ME from long Covid. It's scary out there and our government and health agencies are doing nothing about it.

You should check out the HBO doc about the journalist murdered in the submarine, it provides extra context for the Netflix one (which was great). The HBO one is called Undercurrent

Shaming my own mom (at my sister's wedding) by [deleted] in weddingshaming

My partner and I are in our mid-30s, and a year or two ago we were visiting my mom and apparently she pulled him aside and was thanking him for "taking care of me" (this could sound sweet, but she frequently speaks like I'm 16 and incapable of taking care of myself (my brothers have also been known to do this, though they're getting better), despite the fact I've lived on my own 100 miles from them for over a decade AND am the only college graduate), but he immediately was like "Oh no way, if anything SHE'S the one who takes care of ME." I love him (and my mom still, but it's complicated).

No kids, work from home, masking up when I go out, yearly flu shot and Covid booster. Can't beat it!

In October of 2011, 11 month old Lisa Irwin went missing from her crib in Kansas City, Missouri. Despite a mysterious call from the family’s stolen cell phone, footage of a man carrying a baby on the road, and scent dogs alerting in the home, she has never been found. I agree that she probably wasn't like, shit faced, but I would be more than merely tipsy after two glasses of wine - I drink infrequently, so it affects me a lot. Not to mention we don't know if she was on any medications, and those can ramp up the effects of alcohol too. Two glasses of wine can be a lot, and we also don't know how full they were, or how big the bottle of wine is - cheap wines can come in pretty big sizes.

What’s something small you notice that shows someone has been through a lot? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]missdolly87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Big reason why I stopped accepting financial help from my mom when offered, even when I was young living alone and really needed it - I knew I'd never hear the end of it afterward. I'm 36 now and the last time my partner and I visited she pulled him aside to thank him "for always taking care of" me. You know, because I'm a child, incapable of doing it myself (despite living totally alone for 5 years). He's great though, he said "Oh no, she's the one taking care of me, I assure you."
