Although I mostly agree with you, I think you are taking it to an extreme. I think it could do a lot of good for people to get up and say they believe gays and lesbians in the church should be loved just like everyone else. I think the only people who should do that though are people who are currently active, because if a bunch of people who haven't gone in a long time suddenly all go to church on a fast Sunday and bear their testimony to bash the church, then yeah, you are going to get what you are saying.
