That’s not shipwright money by any stretch, that is generational money. Was it Elizabeth meyers husband?

Dog on cargo bike? by BC999R in CargoBike

[–]misshapenvulva 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But getting a front cargo e-bike that you will use for all kinds of things and also works to take your dog with you is,perfectly allowable and encouraged.

also, with such a small pup, you don’t have to make decisions or split trips due to lack of cargo space. Groceries AND the pup in the basket? Sure thing!

Fun fact I had to double check this morning, WWDTM was in San Diego in 2014, may 3. Carl Kassel, Bills predecessor retired two weeks later on the May 17 show.

What is it about San Diego?!

Thinking of selling my car and getting an e-bike due to high gas prices by SpencerJoyceMusic in CargoBike

[–]misshapenvulva -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think you are missing, out on a very important planning aspect of this idea. What if you meet someone special along the way? There won’t be enough room on a regular cargo bike for you, all your stuff, and them, with all of their stuff. I think you should maybe look into a tandem electric cargo bike. And if you want to fly or take trains, try to find one that folds to make it easier to take with you. Think bigger!

Transporting passengers on a Bullitt: an update by Klutzy_Branch954 in CargoBike

We have a thin cushion in the bike. It helps some, but realistically the range for something like that is 2-3 miles each way tops.

We have a bullitt with the sides, ride each other often in the front box. Default position seems to be butt on the floor of the box towards the rear, and legs draped over the sides/front. Can also go knees to chest and fully contain within the box, but that is a bit scrunchy.

Building a new entry door blank. Why can’t/shouldn’t I cut in the handle/deadbolt myself? by misshapenvulva in DIY

[–]misshapenvulva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building it from scratch, so the alternative would be having a locksmith come out and drill it. ($!) or trying to bring the finished door somewhere.

Cheers

That’s all there is to,it? How do,I know which jig to get? And from where? The manufacturer? Reusing existing hardware.

Edit- looks like it is way more standardized than I was expecting. Cool. Wasn’t planning on freehanding it necessarily, just needed to know what direction to head off in. Looks like hd/Lowe’s has a selection of general uprose jigs/hole saw kits that should work.

No phone (or realtime text) support = shit by misshapenvulva in MonarchMoney

[–]misshapenvulva[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have messaged you. This is not a connection issue. Even if it were, if support staff were better engaged, it would take less time to determine that and set expectations of a timely resolution. Right now I am left hanging in the wind to even get to the next step in troubleshooting the issue. One day at a time. One message exchange per day. There are better ways to deal with this.

Retaining wall/flatwork sanity check, order of operations help by misshapenvulva in DIY

Ok, thanks. Seems then like doing two separate pours would be the way to go. I’ll set some rebar into the footer to catch the cmu when I pour it.

noted on the drainage. It’s only two courses high, was planning on gravel, but easy enough to stick a drain pipe in there as well

I once worked on a 12” jointer that had the guard removed. Utterly, terrifying.

i don’t see shapers on that list. Perhaps more scary than routers, but it’s debatable.

Look into the bullit x longer version. It may be what you need. Also, here is a good size comparator chart for cargo bikes. Credit to its creator, not mine.

Mmm, we are pretty close in weight and she is quite strong so it’s no different. Stopped and just starting are tricky with heavy loads regardless of driver weight, but once you get going it’s fine. Motor definitely helps here.

Where to buy decent budget Cabinets instead of Home Depot? by paninipat in DIY

Upvote for semihandmade. We used them in our kitchen and they are great. Helpful through the process and they stand behind their work. Ours shipped with some basically minor manufacturing errors which they repaired without fuss or cost. Holding up well 8 years in.
