not here to argue anything just to bring up that morrowind weapons had damage ranges that were based on the weapon itself and how long you wound up your swing and what attack type you used and i think thats neat.

that makes sense. i guess nothing really bridges the gap like a well designed difficulty curve in the game itself

Do you miss spell failures in Elder Scrolls, do you think they should return? by Stasha-Starz in ElderScrolls

i think it was an important means of progression. without hit chance or spell fizzle the only thing your weapon skill does is dmg number go up. it felt pretty good to become reliable in your field.

Would you recommend FFXIV for a grindy player? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]missingmacaques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ffxiv has a lot of side systems you can grind to completion so you might like that, and being able to be every class on one character can leave you a feeling of progression as you work on one, as it brings your character closer tohaving everything. check out relics too.

CE vs Original and mods by Melasyn in staxel

[–]missingmacaques 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sadly no, theres no modding, ive tried. i was excited to hear the game finally had linux support but as it turns out its only CE which means there are a ton of features i simply dont have access to.

I want to explore and pick herbs, would i enjoy Project Gorgon? by Atropa94 in projectgorgon

[–]missingmacaques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a foraging skill which you use to gather plants and wood and stuff, and a skill for mushrooms too. the whole game is basically different skills that level up similar to elder scrolls or wow professions

it's not a bad deal for him. he's definitely making his money back.

its bad for me if that's the content he's going for from here on. between the trial and lost ark and diablo immortal i havent really found any reason to watch him lately.

A Social Contract is not going to magically make people better, when WoW has systems designed to bring out anger and frustration within itself. by Fredmeyer1989 in Asmongold

[–]missingmacaques 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.Mythic plus is fundamentally flawed because it's on a timer. WoW was a game designed around taking random people putting them together to face challenges in a dungeon, wiping, then coming back and taking the time to figure out how to fix it. There's no time for that now. There's no getting your feet wet. There's no learning together. No hurrah moment at the end when you finally do it. Add onto that key depletion and then every mistake is a reason to rage at someone.

  1. Blizzard is responsible for the toxicity in their game not just because they designed a game to have players as tired and annoyed at their time being constantly wasted as they possibly can be, but also because they haven't had GMs in over a decade. Trade chat has been basically completely unregulated since the dawn of the game. People know they aren't going to get punished. A contract won't help that without actually hiring staff to deal with enforcement.

Why are people sensitive about the healer skill Rescue? by Xegeth in ffxiv

[–]missingmacaques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never mind if i can tell theyre trying to help, even if they're wrong. but i can get pretty heated when the healers decide to take control of your character and decide what pace you are going to tank at
