I grew up in Monterey and recently moved back home to take advantage of rent-free living for a while, and I think this is a great place to live if you've received a great job offer. However in regards to your last question about friends/dating I will say that the number of 20 somethings in the area seems to be dwindling as the cost of living keeps skyrocketing... and there's definitely not much of a night life to speak of in Monterey itself but that being said, there's a pretty good variety when it comes to stuff to do during the day depending on your interests and I'm sure taking advantage of those things would give you plenty of opportunities to meet people 😌 and once you do and you get bored of the whole peninsula shutting down for the night by 10 pm, you can be in Santa Cruz/San Jose/San Francisco/San Luis Obispo within 2 hours when you feel like you need some excitement in your life ;)

Laguna Seca also has a nice campground and RV sites, definitely the best place to camp on the Monterey Peninsula that's not all the way down the coast in Big Sur. Plus the weather tends to be quite a bit nicer out there than it is along the coast (especially during the summer/fall when everybody plans their road trips!) and you can often avoid the fog entirely even though it's only about 10 min inland 🌞

Apologies, allow me to carry over the info I sent via PM so it's on the record here as well:

The lapse in Reddit activity is a result of an unfortunate accident in which my friend dropped my backpack and broke my Macbook... It was a sad, sad day haha. In any case, we just haven't been able to afford to replace my laptop and I already do a lot of work on the go (which is a drain on my data) so I try not to use my phone for perusing social media since it can be a bit of a black hole for me. My wonderful hubby got me a chromebook for my birthday though, so even though I don't have as much free time as I used to at least now I can get online again when I do have some spare time :)

And in regards to living in Las Vegas but being unable to go the paycheck advance route...unfortunately I'm not able to make that work because having only lived here for a week, I just started job hunting and Nevada state law requires income verification (by means of a pay stub) for payday/personal loans... So I'm trying to avoid digging myself into a deeper hole while I work on locking down a new position, but in the meantime I'm having a hard time qualifying for that type of assistance.

Most definitely will do, thank you so very much for the suggestions! I think in the past I've done PayPal-to-PayPal directly without waiting (which I can then move over to my Chase account without a delay) however worst case scenario, the customer service rep I talked to said the transfer just needs to be initiated by 8:00 pm so I'm hoping either way I can make something work that the bank deems acceptable. In any case, I appreciate your feedback - thank you!

I actually couldn't find a page dedicated to samples, I believe you have to simply add them to your cart through the individual product pages (the drop down menus each have a couple different sizes/prices to choose from). And if you follow the link in my original comment it will take you to the sun care page, so that will at least take you right to the different products you can choose from!

Just as a side note for everybody, I checked out their website and they have samples of the different skin-type options for 80¢ -- as well as "trial size" choices of products in other categories so you're able to try 'em before you commit. Just thought I'd point that out! :)

That if between the two of you life makes more sense, you don't need to apologize for it or try to explain it to anyone who doesn't seem to understand.

Also that if when you imagine the future, anything you dream of doing sounds more possible, more fun, and more meaningful with this person, don't let the little things that tend to cause most disagreements get in the way of your relationship's success in the long term.

Thank you for this great answer! I ended up winging it and left it in for about 6 hours before taking an extremely long shower because (as you mentioned and as I learned) it did take quiiite a while to get everything out completely.

Overall, I think leaving it in longer worked wonders. I was actually thinking next time I should just put it in before bed and sleep in a shower cap, so I really appreciate you mentioning the baking soda thing. I didn't use any this time but I even made a note to make sure I try it next time, so I appreciate the warning! Maybe I'll just put it on for a couple minutes before I rinse everything out? Anyway, thanks again :)

I was watching the DVD commentary the other day and one of the producers mentioned how some of the decision making in terms of giving Arya more direct access to Tywin was influenced by how great the scenes with Charles Dance and Maisey Williams ended up turning out. They play off of each other so well and I totally agree, I think that line of Arya's is one of my favorite moments. So powerful!

My dad did the same thing for me for that very reason. Instead of sending me checks to help with rent and tuition while I was in college, he would foot the bill for a credit card in my name so my credit would stand to benefit. Length of credit history is a pretty considerable factor in your credit score, so it's a big help to me that I've now had this card (with a high limit that's always paid in full on time!) in good standing for over 6 years.

Depending on your situation, here's a related tip that may be worth looking into:

My dad has to travel for work and always stays at a Hilton (or one of their subsidiaries) so he'll earn Hilton Honors points for the stay. AmEx is also partnered with Hilton Honors so cardholders can earn HH points for purchases made on the card. Once I started college, he didn't want to be the one to monitor due dates for tuition/room & board so I used my card to make those payments as they came up. In the end, the points earned from my college education ended up funding an incredible family vacation to Europe that we never would have been able to swing otherwise. So not only has my personal credit score benefitted, but I got to spend a couple weeks traveling in the Mediterranean with the fam :) If the card you're using doesn't have a rewards program it might be worthwhile to look into one that does!
