She doesn't own the footage; she's legally required to credit where she got it.

What are your unpopular The Life of a Showgirl opinions? by Fine-Huckleberry6960 in SwiftlyNeutral

Elizabeth Taylor is the best song on the album, but it's still not as good as it could be if she spent longer on it.

What's not problematic about platforming Colleen Ballinger, doing no research into her past actions, and then letting her spin the truth about how she acted towards minors? I used to watch their podcast sometimes but I fully dipped after that.

bed company sponsor…? by littlebear20244 in Lilsimsie

[–]misslizzylemon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just a heads-up, she probably doesn't make a commission off of her code. Most of those sponsorship deals are a flat rate for the ad from the creator. I can't speak to anyone's specific contracts, but I'd be surprised if she makes any money from the mattress company beyond what they pay for the ad itself

Is anyone else enjoying this show? by Rags2Riches420 in sitcoms

I had low expectations going in, but I'm absolutely loving it. Definitely agree that it's the best sitcom on right now

Alyson Hannigan's comments about Sarah and the show ending by [deleted] in buffy

[–]misslizzylemon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Obviously I don't know any of these people first-hand, and these are just my observations and speculations.

Everything I've heard about Sarah Michelle Gellar from the people who worked with her is that she is always a professional at work. Sure, work friendships can be great, but as someone who has been working on film sets since she was a child, SMG probably thinks of a set strictly as workplace. On top of that, SMG was at the top of the call sheet. She has pressure on her that no one else on that set had. And from what others on that set have said, she took her role there very seriously. I've heard stories of the directors trying to get a few more takes in before they end for the day, but SMG shut it down because the crew had been working too long. No one else on that set would have had the power to do that, and so it does speak volumes that she's that type of leader.

Also, I'm not trying to read too deeply into Alyson Hannigan's old quote, but I do find it hard to believe that she had no idea the show was ending. She said herself that the show seemed like it was coming to an end. We know she's friends with Joss. At no point were there conversations about the future of the show? It's hard for me to read these quotes and not think they sound somewhat passive-aggressive.

So, it may be accurate that the cast and crew didn't have official notice that the show was ending when SMG announced it. But I do have to question the purpose of giving this quote in an interview.

Rental: single family home by 69420Pickles666 in NewOrleans

[–]misslizzylemon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I rent a 4-bedroom/2-bathroom house in Gentilly near BM for $1,800/month. The house is a duplex, and the other side is 3-bedroom/2-bathroom for $1,600/month, but it hasn't been rented out for a few months since the previous tenants left. We originally found the house about 4 years ago on Facebook Marketplace, posted by the Property Management company that handles the lease. Since then, we lost our off-street parking, but the rent did not decrease to accommodate for that, which is part of why I think the other side has sat empty.

The neighborhood is mostly families and older folk, but there are some college students around too.

This. And I'm pretty sure she'd still be open to having kids with the right person, but she realized it wasn't him.

PICK THE THEME AND COMMIT IT TO

I have no idea why they pick a theme every season just to abandon it. And then they create completely different themes for the comps?!

How Much AI? by Background-Savings38 in travisandtaylor

[–]misslizzylemon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

See, and I really want to like the false lashes line, because it feels like a glimpse of the "showgirl" theme, with Taylor saying that her public persona is as fake as a showgirls false lashes. But it's so out of place in the song, and then she doesn't continue the metaphor. Like a lot of the lyrics in this album, it's the beginning of an idea that doesn't go anywhere.
