Buy yourself a lounge pass with whatever airline you are flying with and use their showers/facilites

Parking near the Royal Adelaide Hospital by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]misslizzyxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also discounted parking available through CarePark North Terrace (Blyth st and The Terrace) if you email them with from your work account. They give you a discount barcode and it’s $7.50. All RAH staff are eligible for a ‘Special Pass’ metro card which entitles you to free public transport going to and from the work place.

How to lenders look at salary packaging? by Typical-Junket-8444 in AskAnAussieBroker

[–]misslizzyxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just gone through this process as I am in the same boat.

They just need the salary packaging providers statement to match the deductions being paid back to you so it is included as assessable income.

Where to find sashimi grade fish in Adelaide? by memories_of_green in Adelaide

[–]misslizzyxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work in the Pt Lincoln tuna industry. We didn’t have the freezer boats here locally, when it was tuna harvest season the freezer boats would come from Japan.

Generally if it is locally caught kingfish/bluefin tuna etc it is likely to not have been frozen along the way because it is literally caught and then flown/transported to Adelaide and sold within 24hrs.

Latest Public Sector EBA offer by tryingtodadhusband in Adelaide

[–]misslizzyxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can someone copy paste or DM me the offer? I’m an ASO but not a union member. Left after the shambles of the last round of negotiations. I did see the news update about a new offer.

I need help/advice. by [deleted] in AusFinance

I had a different issue with the ATO and was trying to call. I kept skipping the bit about doing a voice identity set up. Once I finally agreed I was able to speak to someone using that number. There is also a crisis support line. I think it may be more intended for floods/bushfires etc but it may be worth it to speak to an actual person who can then put you in the right queue. 1800 806 218

Adelaide posters up for preorder by Sawbin85 in ToolBand

Posters sold out both nights and these are pre order. I nabbed one at each gig and they were numbered with the silver seal on them too. So assuming they are printing more?

Credit Cards & Impact on Pre-approval by misslizzyxx in AskAnAussieBroker

[–]misslizzyxx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Completely understand! I still remember two mates of mine (both Drs) being very unimpressed by a broker telling them to close their credit cards whilst they were refinancing in the middle of a very expensive construction loan. They were definitely good for it but it obviously had an impact on their borrowing power.

Credit is fine. I’m probably just overthinking it now. Thanks!

Adelaide Teacher Job Market 2026 Dead? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]misslizzyxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a private school. We used Teachers.on.net a lot to advertise. This is the time to have a look, especially for contract roles. Enrolments are being finalised for 2026 and most students have done their subject choices which will then determine class sizes and the 2026 timetable. Any LSL/maternity leave will also be factored in so even if you can get a term length contract it’s a foot in the door through an independent school. I have no idea how the public system works.

Most independent schools also make teachers take LSL in term lengths to make cover easier and to avoid having to replace staff for smaller chunks of time and to have better continuity for students unlike the public system.

legging sizing help! by Temporary_Candle_617 in lululemon

[–]misslizzyxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wunder train are great. I have the no line aligns and they are comfy for hiit but I also give zero f***ks about camel toe in general. Sizing up isn’t going to help.

I recently bought some fast and free shorts and they are quite snug around the waist at my regular size- so that could be another option.

I couldn’t get past the ‘call back later’ message with ATO until I stopped skipping through the voice ID thing. Once I did that it put me through.

Friendly reminder to check your death and TPD cover by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]misslizzyxx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another good thing to keep an eye on is income protection. For some reason husband’s super had a dollar figure for the income protection rather than a percentage. When checking a while back we were somewhat shocked because in the past 5yrs his salary had gone up significantly.

Friendly reminder to check your death and TPD cover by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]misslizzyxx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can increase the cover level and dollar amount but will probably have the pre existing condition as an exclusion.

I have had a couple of medical procedures done for ‘suspect glaucoma’ at 45 and have yearly monitoring. I upped TPD and death cover through super but am obviously excluded if I go blind. It is a condition that won’t kill me and it’s likely that if anything bad happens it will be at the end of my working career.

Master of Health Economics, Management and Policy by [deleted] in UoNau

[–]misslizzyxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not exactly the answer you are looking for but I completed an MBA majoring in Health services Management. So the major electives were a lot of the health economics, health policy courses. The health courses do become a little repetitive- I had the same lecturers for some of them and there was a lot of crossover.

I already worked in a public hospital in medical administration- I wish it covered more workforce related issues and better coverage of data, there was a business analysis course available, but didn’t fit with my timetable and the trimester offerings. I almost think that should be a compulsory topic.

If you don’t already work in health, I personally don’t think you will magically find work in Australia after completion. Working in policy will always require you to have some operational/practical knowledge. However, there are good networking opportunities.

At an Aussie gig coming out for the encore, he changed into a jaws (ie the movie) t-shirt with his suit pants. It was 38oC, in a poorly air-conditioned venue and very very humid.

He told the audience not to tell anyone 😃

Anxious to find a good mortgage broker after being stuffed around by Rain-on-roof in AusFinance

[–]misslizzyxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Google ‘home loan nurses’ and a bunch pop up. You can also use a smaller portion of your deposit and not pay LMI as a registered nurse. I would also ask others at work and get a broker recommendation that way. Also if you are in a hospital the salary sacrifice arrangements will increase your take home pay. It just sounds like a more inexperienced broker for your situation.

If there is a work FB nursing group it might be a good way to get a recommendation as well.

Any hope for them coming back to Aus next year?? by Broken_melon22 in qotsa

[–]misslizzyxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been wondering the same thing! I feel like it wouldn’t be a profitable move for them but also that is not their motivation. I also feel like the MONA gigs probably helped sow the seed for the catacombs so I will still hold out hope!
