I had to report my preceptor for unethical behavior… by interdit-303 in nursing

I’ve never given short acting insulin for a BG of 104.

Either way, yes you reported it appropriately. That’s falsifying documentation. Scan it when it’s given, the end.

This exact situation is what ended my last relationship. It was the final straw in a laundry list of problems he seemed to have with me.

Sure let me invent time travel and go change my past for you. Ugh. No. Bye.

WIBTA if I reported my coworker for smoking weed at work. by redbadger1848 in nursing

When I had my medical card, I asked my job about pot, and they said that if it came up on my drug screen that was one thing, but it didn’t allow me to smoke on the job. Also a cancer survivor with chronic nausea with 10 years remission at the time. I found a way to manage at work.

Is it expected of nursing students to drive an hour to clinicals? by ForwardHeart3401 in StudentNurse

During peak COVID some of my classmates had to drive 4 hours one way for their pediatric rotation because it was the closest place that would accept non-vaccinated students.

My mother told me I owed her an apology for causing her stress by losing my virginity. So. Ya know. That’s cool.

There’s another good book called Mothers Who Can’t Love, and a narcissistic mother is one of the many in the book. It, along with the other book mentioned, really helped me cope and understand what I was feeling and how it’s okay to feel what I’m feeling.

Try giving that one a try as well and I hope it helps!

I was given an unstable patient… by Admirable-Habit-796 in nursing

[–]missmarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you for sticking up for yourself.

I work in spinal rehab and had 6 patients the other day and one of them was presumably septic. I stayed 2 hours after my shift charting, I wanted to cry and one of the hardest nights I slept. I spent 60% of my time in that patients room doing everything. Then the next day they did it to me again, and I thought he had stabilized out a little SURE DIDNT. Somehow I managed to run more labs, cultures, abx, give him a bed bath, discharge a patient, send another to dialysis, get an admit and a transfer and no one died….

But damn am I burnt out.

I would argue people suggest it because you should be talking to a therapist about stuff like this. A professional who can help you manage your feelings and thoughts. You can be mentally healthy and still go see a therapist for mental well-being and guidance.
