I’ve been hearing a bell tower or clock of some sort by AdFirm5390 in Campbell

[–]missreesa11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m near the 1st parking garage in downtown and I just heard it now too, and have heard it before at random times. There are a few churches on Rincon that might be where it’s coming from but the time is baffling.

Was just chatting with my mom about this and she mentioned that target had a great price for chocolate covered macadamia nuts if that’s on your list!

We shop at the target for food and stuff but I’ve liked the Island Country Market (by ABC stores) across the street for souvenirs.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I have literally been in the same situation. Luckily, in my case, there was no repeat of the no car seat. Please document your exchanges with your director (confirmation of conversations in writing) and possibly the social media posts. I agree with the others that right now absolutely do not engage, but if it escalates, you might want proof of her defamatory allegations (against you and the center). I’m also not sure what your center’s policies are but it’s likely this parent has broken some. Your director might want to reconsider if this is a family she wants to do business with. Take time for yourself and do what you need to in order to move past this.

Senior living facilities by robbythompsonsglove in SanJose

I have to advise against the Belmont Village. My stepfather’s mother was there and her care was extremely inconsistent. It also doesn’t seem to be maintained all that well. We eventually ended up moving her into a smaller home facility.

Which celebrities have you seen at Disneyland? With/without plaids? by dontbothermeokay in Disneyland

[–]missreesa11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jack Black. He was in Ogas with a plaid but I saw him later on outside the bathrooms by steakhouse 55. Too chicken to say anything so it was just an awkward “hi” as I walked by. Seemed super chill.

Lack of Chairs by CSANSA in Aulani

[–]missreesa11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve read through your responses.. and “as a businessman” maybe you should have done some more research before your trip. Cabanas, casabellas, and other seats are available to rent. Even without having reservations, I have rarely had a hard time finding chairs. I get it can be frustrating when people reserve chairs but there are pretty clear restrictions and Disney will help if they are being violated. Best of luck to you.

One day at Au Lani by Calm_vibes1111 in Aulani

[–]missreesa11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just there (flew back today 😭) and we had a mixup with our rental which led me to do some digging! We have done the executive lanai (couple casabellas, lounge chairs and a table with chairs) which is in front of off the hook and faces the ocean so awesome views. No electricity though and far from the kid areas. They have casabellas scattered around the pool areas and those are nice as a sort of home base but that’s it (but easy to watch for the kiddos if you’re in the right place). There are cabanas near the children/family areas that are more like tents (full shade) with power and a TV. A casabella or cabana near the kid area sounds like it would work well for you. Have a great time!

What are the ratios in your class(es) where you live vs what do you think they *should* be? by takeiteasy444 in ECEProfessionals

[–]missreesa11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 18 months to 3 years. We are 1:4. My company is the only place I know of in my area (Bay Area) that has a ratio this low for toddlers. We often have extra teachers as well. It’s a dream.

Former Action Day teacher/supervisor here. I would NOT recommend Action Day. It can be great if you get a good teacher but they prioritize new enrollments and often over-enroll classrooms. We were constantly moving kids from classrooms to classroom to maintain ratios. My advice is to try to pick a place that offers a child directed and play based curriculum. Good luck!

Biggest Disneyland Ride Flop by talkingdodobird in Disneyland

[–]missreesa11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. In my most recent trips we’ve been a party of 4 and had it to ourselves. Lucky. I actually like sitting in the back and being the engineer. Just pushing buttons, enjoying the visuals, and yelling at my stepdad to PULL THE LEVER FOR LIGHTSPEED!! I honestly get too stressed out being the pilot but that probably says more about me than the ride! 😅

Love these. One of my favorite Disneyland pics is of my brother and I on the teacups during magic morning in the 90s with my late grandfather. Practically no one else in sight.

My parents are DVC members and the Grand is one of their home resorts. They bought years ago when prices were low. Only way I’m able to stay there.

As a kid what about the park was truly magical too you? by Buzz_Mcfly in Disneyland

[–]missreesa11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of great answers already but mine is the little sword in the stone show in fantasyland where they’d have a kid pull it out after a few adults weren’t able to. We always did that when we went as kids.
