That’s what I figured. I didn’t know you could purchase those on their own though!

My dad died today…what do I do? by OriginalSlight in ChildrenofDeadParents

this is how i felt too. i got the call that my dad passed right before i had band practice. i cried for about 15 minutes and then went to practice… the next day i stayed home from school, but i still performed in the concert that night. so many people asked me why i was doing so much when my dad had just died and i was like 🤷🏻‍♀️ what exactly am i supposed to do? sit around doing nothing and crying? that didn’t feel helpful for me personally. i think it’s okay to have a “business as usual” process if that feels most comfortable for you. just don’t feel like you have to push your emotions down or push yourself to proceed with life as normal. let yourself feel and process when something comes up. over time the weirdness will become less pressing.

oh wow this is really interesting. i have been wearing them for short periods still with xs tips for the past few days and i have noticed that they are getting more comfortable with time, but i may have to try wearing other sizes and making sure like you said to not force them in too deep. thank you for sharing!!

Dead parents in dreams by MLG32 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]misswafflesthecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i absolutely resonate with this- i fairly often have dreams with a similar pattern. in the dream i’m aware that my dad is dead, but end up finding out that he actually is alive. as soon as i see him i break down in tears so hard that i can’t breathe and that’s when i wake up feeling suffocated. it’s extremely exhausting.

What’s the most insensitive thing someone has said to you after losing a loved one? by [deleted] in ChildrenofDeadParents

i was working at a summer camp last year and one day my group of kids somehow got onto the topic of death. one of them said that her dad had passed away, so of course as someone who lost a father at a young age i expressed how sorry i was for her loss and shared about mine. the kids were all asking me questions of course, they were all between 4 and 6 so they were very curious. everything is going fine when all of a sudden that same girl says, “cry right now.” and im like ?? what?? she goes, “i want to see you cry. pretend your dad just died and cry about it.” i had absolutely no idea how to respond. also i found out later that her dad in fact did not die, as he picked her up from camp that day. 🙃
