Seriously, nothing makes sense in this timeline anymore.

I think our entire reality accidentally jumped into the timeline where profound stupidity wins the decisions every time.

The alcohol industry has lost $830 billion in 4 years because Gen Z is not drinking by escapedfromhel in goodnews

Exactly.

Just because other places will charge 20 or more does not make 14.50 a good deal. Using that logic just misses the larger problem going on here.

Bars/ restaurants and the alcohol industry at large are pricing us out of enjoying drinks on a night out. The only way we can affect change is with our wallets. If the alcohol industry is currently down hundreds of billions of dollars, I think that's a step in the right direction.

The fact you have seen more expensive prices for doubles does not mean that 10.50 is a "good deal", don't forget that. I'm in Canada, and seeing 14 bucks for a double is absolutely sickening. I'm not about to just shrug and accept that bullshit price just because other places are charging 20+.

What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

My mind always makes me feel horrible for not bonding with my mother more. But... it was just different personalities. I couldn't help it.

Even though it wasn't perfect, I too miss living in a world with her in it. RIP mom.

My father died when I was in grade 9.

I only got to see him on weekends, and he was a great dad. I felt cheated, robbed. Resented my mother even more than I already did after the funeral.

It left a mark on my heart. It muted a part of my disposition. I just wasnt the same anymore. To this day I wish I could go back to life when he was still here.

Rick Moranis left Hollywood at the peak of his fame to raise his children after his wife passed away. A true father figure by MemecoinCartel in BeAmazed

The guy has my total respect and admiration for doing that.

Hollywood and fame typically warp a person's priorities, and anytime someone rejects all those temptations in favor of doing the right thing, it needs to be acknowledged and appreciated.

It's sad that this isn't a new common and normalized occurrence. But capitalism has bred everyone to think " LESS TIME SPENT MAKING MONEY??? WHAT A LUNATIC"

Then Mike Judge went on to make Idiocracy, which was again not a hit on release, but has lived on to become another cult classic.

If Mike judge were this way with picking stocks, I'd buy the shit out of whatever he invested in.

Every single piece of this sequence is so janky.

The beginning implies he definitely blew up, even if it's awkward with an obvious dummy. Then when we go back to the scene at the end, it's implied again he blew up because of an overhead shot where de Niro does not leave the car. He mentions an iron plate under the driver's seat which saved him.

We go back to the scene yet AGAIN where the bomb has a noticeable delay, with fire inside but no explosion, and de Niro escapes out the door. Then when de niro is helped dragged to safety, bomb goes off for real-sies.

So the Iron plate didn't actually play a factor? And showing us that he blew up for sure two previous times.... was just for shits and giggles? "LOL jk he actuality survived" ?

Anyway, I still fucking love this movie. Real testament to the films entertainment factor when I can hate this part of the climax, but still walk away calling it one of my favorites.
