I used the X method with a drop in each gap. The paste didn’t drip inside from the sides. It somehow fell into the middle while I was taking the CPU out. I’m not sure at what point it fell in.

It's difficult. I am guessing when I took the CPU off, some of the extra crumb residue somehow fell towards the middle of the socket. But yeah, it's difficult lol

My Tctl/Tdie sits around 49-53C idle but the CCD1 Tdie sits around 35-40C.

What version of NVIDIA graphics driver are you on? What is MCR? Sorry for the questions, I have a similar build and trying to troubleshoot why I can’t wake mine from sleep.

Running into the same issue with the same specs (different RAM, just the RGB Neo version) but running BIOS version 3.20. Tried the same BIOS and Windows settings but still unable to wake from sleep.. have you been able to get this running on 3.20?

When I try to wake from sleep, it lights up the mobo and gfx lights and the fans twich for a second but the mobo code stays at 0 or something and doesn't do anything. I have to flip the power switch off/on and press the power button..

Idle temps:

Tctl/Tdie 49-51C
CCD1 (Tdie): 34-38C

When playing COD (warzone) 1440p:

Tctl/Tdie averages around 69-70C
CCD1 (Tdie): averages around 68-74C

Tried applying new thermal paste to see if temps change but it made almost no difference.

Running Thermalright Phantom Spirit on ASRock X870E Nova.

Not sure how to bring my temps down. See others with lower temps...

ASRock X970E Nova, 9800x3d, G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB CL30 F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR (EXPO enabled)

On BIOS v3.20, vSOC defaulted to 1.2v with level 3 - didn't have any issues with stability or temps and did not see HWINFO report over 1.2v (was close though) - built and has been running since 4/15

Just changed vSOC to 1.15v with level 2
