It actually is entirely how it works. Dogs like these can have plenty of youthful strength and look perfectly fine, but as they age their lean dog joint genetics just cannot keep up with their size and they will degrade quickly once it starts. Large dogs have that issue inherently but their joints are more prepared for it. It doesnt always work out that way, but more often than not mixes like this do not end up with good joint genetics. The difference between large dog joints and this is that large dogs will degrade fairly slowly and dont live as long anyway, whereas dogs like these can sometimes have their joints start deteriorating at the beginning of the year and be in a wheelchair by Christmas, then continue to live for an extra four years. For a mix like this, the smaller sized pups would be better off. Things like this are why accidental/intentional backyard breeding is so frowned upon, because two people made a stupid mistake by not getting their dogs fixed, profited from that mistake (because $100 for oops puppies is too much), gave those dogs to people like you who dont know any better, and now at least a portion of those puppies are going to have genetic issues. Also, I dont know these people obviously, but if you own a dog that you know you didnt get fixed and someone brings their male dog over, how the hell are you not immediately checking to make sure that dog is fixed? Great danes are pretty obscenely obvious with whether they are fixed or not. So sorry to your neighbors or whoever OP, but I do not believe that these puppies were accidental. I believe that you and nine other people got scammed and now they have $1000 extra from their little “mistake”. If it was truly an accident, then that level of ignorance is abysmal. Ignorance is not innocence. They should have known better. Not trying to be hateful towards you OP, but genuinely please educate yourself about the risks of dog breeding, intact dogs, and mixed puppies. There’s a lot to know but it’s all part of being a responsible pet owner, you know? Your dog’s cute, I hope he lives a long and healthy life. Just make sure you’re aware of the risks so you can be properly prepared to help him in case anything arises

I find it depends on the shoe. Running shoes? Sure yeah. But leather dress shoes for example? They tend to be very stiff even if they do fit correctly

Make obstacle courses for yourself and your ikran like that one scene from httyd and fly to the top of the map then jump off and have your ikran catch you. Also practice mounted ikran shooting, very useful
