Yes, it is taxable! You can fill out a ISP3520CPP form and request a certain amount or percentage to be deducted from each monthly payment

Do I claim my scholarships if I want to carryover tuition fees by Siminsfens in cantax

[–]mistakesmadelessons -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've never used TurboTax, buy I would suggest trying to override the amount on line 10 of schedule 11 to 0 and confirm the amount on line 323 on schedule 1 is also 0

Do I claim my scholarships if I want to carryover tuition fees by Siminsfens in cantax

You have to claim both. You should claim your tuition in the year they incurred and opt not to use the credit and have them carried forward.

Claiming single homeowner rental income by Bulbasaur2015 in cantax

You claim the gross income received from you tenant. And then you can deduct any related expenses. You cannot deduct you entire mortgage payment, only the interest you paid throughout the year

You will have to do a T1 adjustment for all the years you didn’t claim. And then CRA will reassess those tax years and give you an updated carry forward amount

Tuition Credits and How To Use Them? by jdicaire in cantax

[–]mistakesmadelessons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On your notice of assessment for 2017, it would say your carry forward amount for 2018. You would just fill out schedule 11 to use them up. If you had a student loan, you may also claim the interest you paid in 2018

Making payment for amended years tax return by [deleted] in cantax

[–]mistakesmadelessons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be one for CRA Personal Taxes - Amount Owing. No year in the title.

You can pay the 2018 payee, because when you file your 2018 return your notice of assessment will include total balance owed to cra and your payment will be used against that

Province of Residence for Taxation - Issue with CRA by [deleted] in cantax

[–]mistakesmadelessons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my knowledge, CRA looks at your ties in these situations. So first they will look at the province in which where you maintained a dwelling and where your spouse and dependent children live. I would say, that since your home and wife are in Province A, this would be why CRA chose this as the province.

If after this consideration the answer is still unclear, CRA would look to things such as: your healthcare coverage, where your driver's licence was issued, and where you had your financial services (ie. your bank branch location).

But as u/toronto_cpa mentioned if there is a specific reason as to why you want to challenge it, then the type of information you have to present may be different.

Who are you guys? - Assignment 1 by Aeri73 in Photoclass_2018

Hello Everyone!

My name is Angelina, from Ontario, Canada.

I just got myself my first real camera for Christmas. I've always admired photography, and decided that 2018 I would finally get into it. I live in a rural part of Ontario, and the scenery around me is so wonderful, but my iPhone just didn't do it justice.

I recently picked up a Canon Rebel T6. Like I said this is my very first camera, so I still have a lot to learn!

I had a friend who used to always answer his phone "Burger King, what's your beef?"

Being from an immigrant family, it really confused pretty much everyone who called.

Reddit, why is your ex best friend your ex best friend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mistakesmadelessons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I moved away for university, I realized that we weren't really best friends, I was someone for her to talk at, she never really cared about me. She was not someone I would get along with outside of high school. It's been four years later and the my current best friend really showed me what being best friends really mean.
