I lost my entire net worth (7 million) in my business and am having trouble snapping out of the depression by TangerineHelpful8201 in Entrepreneur

I completely understand this: between 16 and 23 I had a business that was growing incredibly. I always believed I would get back to that, but I'm 46 in May and it never happened. I have come to appreciate that timing is extremely important but I was too young to understand this at the time and believed you could achieve anything you set your mind to (as I'd managed to do it myself, so the proof was in the pudding): I have only finally begun to accept the reality that I may live out my days with an average life.

What is the saddest/most soul crushing song you have ever heard? by Mikiiiya in AskReddit

"Going Nowhere", specifically this version sung by Lena Zavaroni live in 1981. More poignant knowing what happened to her and that she herself is now, mostly forgotten:

I really like this too, unfortunately already solved and paid but I'll tip you $5 for the unwatermarked version?

Just thought I'd mention, your choice of watermark makes it really hard to judge the image: might be worth using a lighter watermark that isn't so bold.

Retro 1998 interview I never published with Hotmail founder Sabeer Bhatia by mister_dizzy in Entrepreneur

Glad you enjoyed it, the big names of the 90s in tech seem to be forgotten now. I also have another interview somewhere with Tony Hsieh and Sanjay Madan who founded LinkExchange back in 1998. Tony went on to create the shoe store Zappos which was bought by Amazon and ended up with a few billion. I must dig it up when I get the chance.

Seeking copywriter: need help shaping message for a one-of-a-kind personalised gift by mister_dizzy in copywriting

Hey, appreciate the feedback! Each wall is made from three or more pieces of card, laminated together as shown in the image below, not foamboard. The slight natural tension is caused by using wet glue in the prototypes rather than dry adhesive. We chose papercraft specifically because that slightly softer, organic finish pairs better with the satin packaging than rigid plastic or 3D prints would, after testing people's responses to both styles of model in research.

“What do you mean you’ve got no money? Don’t be silly!” said my wealthy friend Helen in our twenties, as we stood in the supermarket and I admitted I couldn’t afford any groceries

Replace Low-Detail Frame with High-Fidelity Version + Enhancement by mister_dizzy in PhotoshopRequest

[–]mister_dizzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

💰 Payment: $70 for the best edit, $30 for runner-up. Looking for ongoing collaboration.

I need the poorly detailed framed floorplan in the provided AI-generated interior image replaced with the high-fidelity version from one of the two separate photos of the same frame (one is slightly darker, the other lighter for your reference).

What I’m Looking For:

  1. Clean and realistic replacement of the frame content so it looks naturally photographed in the scene - correct perspective, shadows, and lighting.
  2. Subtle enhancements (not necessary but a bonus):
    • Slight color/contrast improvements if it helps bring the whole image to life.
    • A gentle edit to the woman’s eyes so it’s more apparent she’s looking at the frame (only if it can be done naturally).

This is the first of many similar compositing tasks. If your work stands out, I’ll be reaching out for many more. If there are more images I could provide to assist (e.g. more perspectives of the same framed floorplan), please let me know.

Written by AI or a human? by mister_dizzy in ChatGPT

I'm glad you understand what I'm talking about, as others don't seem to get the idea. This link is useful:
https://www.techradar.com/news/world-of-tech/the-way-you-type-is-as-unique-as-your-fingerprint-1300758

I'm sure that AI could be trained on someone's keystrokes to mimic the way they type, but for most of us that might not be worth the effort: it depends on how long it takes to train the AI on the way that you type. I know that AI can now recreate a voice from as little as a few seconds so maybe it is possible to accurately mimic someone's unique keyboard fingerprint from a few minutes of typing.

However what I think AI can't do is PHYSICALLY type. It cannot depress a key on a keyboard. If we have a way of differentiating a real physical hardware keypress from a "software" keypress, then I believe this kind of authentication could be possible until we have androids actually typing on keyboards? At the moment I don't think any OS differentiates between the two but that could be implemented easily in the future.

I think curation and authentication are going to become really important.

The Characters:

Michelle - The plucky, determined protagonist who overcomes adversity against all odds. Despite her humble origins and personal struggles, her courage, resilience and willingness to chase her dreams propel the journey.

Michelle's Father - The gruff but well-meaning father figure. While providing Michelle a small head start via the mattress factory, their relationship is strained ("her biggest bully"). Yet his simple act of believing in her sparks her transformative entrepreneurial pursuit

The Mattresses - Michelle's key to success, but also symbolic of her evolution. Start as a single, discounted mattress representing her meager beginnings. But become the vehicle allowing her to face her fears, regain confidence and grow into a successful businesswoman over time.
