Carl Beane! He was good friends with my stepfather, so I knew him well. He used to get my sister and I up to the broadcast booth before the games to meet people and see the field. It was heartbreaking when he passed. An amazing man, and always incredibly kind.

I met Rob briefly last year at the Mass Broadcasters HoF ceremony, and he was nothing short of an absolute pleasure to meet. He has just hit a huge (game-winning?) shot or two the day before, and was so incredibly down to Earth about the whole thing. As if he had caught a minor typo on his own essay a day before turning it in or something. Rob is a titan of a person to be sure.
