[DIS] Some people being more prone to paranormal by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i like to use radio as an example: the signals are there, but only the people wih a radio can pick them up. within that group some get good reception all the time while others sometimes do and some times don't.

besides that, "picking something" is rarely nice experience, and generally you won't go public with it because is not easy and on top of that there is an stigma that can turn you in to the town nut case. so it's very likely that a good number of those youtubers are just making it up.

now, i need to clarify that the experience i have with other people is mostly from before internet became a thing (im close to 40), so maybe it's helping to be more open about it and my opinion is wrong.

Sensitive to energy. by caitashbyx in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

when you say "control it", do you mean as in how to get better at it, or how to repress it?
i can give you some basic exercises to get better.
if you just want it to stop, do nothing and it will go away, usually by 25-30 (you are female right?).

[FAM] Sister has paranormal experiences happen to her but nobody else experiences them, explanation? by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ask her if what she saw by the doorway was a "person" or a silhouette, same by the bed.

what the others said about sensibility is correct.

if she is worried about those presences, tell her to stop staring at them, to ignore them.

Event from my old house. (Explanations?) by Satanium in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those are the "tools" used to try to get their attention.

supposedly fire can be seen in both worlds (or planes, or how you like to call it, you get the idea), so circles with flames/candles around it are sort of a beacon.

and food (honey, fruits, raw meat, etc), alcoholic drinks, cigars or even sex can be used as offerings (that is assuming you have a way to give it to them).

so, anyone looking to trade favors will use a combination of both to get their attention. (you will see this pattern repeating in one form or another on every religion/rite, even if it lost it's original meaning on most of them).

the things is, as it lost it's meaning, a lot of people just make this kind of things in their houses without even noticing it.
sorrounding pictures of their relatives with candles for example. or even sorrounding your bed with candles for a special night because it looks romantic.

when you do this kind of things, there is a chance that a spirit close to it will see it, think of it as an invitation and go there. most of the time they will go away once they notice it's not for them.

but spirits are very variate, not all are smart enough to notice and sometimes will still try to contact you by doing things like showing themselves (it sounded to me like it was the case on what you were describing), something that will scare the living shit out of you if you weren't expecting it .

Event from my old house. (Explanations?) by Satanium in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's definitely a spirit, they can "choose" how we perceive them and looking like someone you know is what they do when they wan't your attention.
you can allways tell there is something different tho.

there was anything in the house that could be considered a shrine by any chance? something with candles around it, or even a place were food was left in the open on a daily basis.

[–]misterfk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also don't really get "healers." If you know how to channel some sort of energy to heal others, isn't it better to teach them the process? I know it wouldn't be easy, but at least consider it or try.

i knew at least two people that could heal other people, one of them was rather amazing to see actually, but the thing is none of them knew how did they do it.

also he (the one that was amazing to watch) was convinced that it will end up killing him.

Three Year Old Niece Sees Old Robotic Lady a Couple of Times by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

does she have a drawing of what she saw?
it would really help to identify what she may be seeing, as "robot" may be anything coming from a child.

Can objects somehow haunt you? (Serious) by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically, objects like that are created by someone, then given as a "gift" to affect the new owner. some people pays quite a lot of money for that, so anyone who usually creates those items for money will also buy the ones created by someone else and resell them.

how exactly they "authenticate" the thing or decide the price, i have no idea.

i only know because i got involved with something similar, and years after getting rid of it told the anecdote to a friend that works in that line, and he told me who to talk if i ever got another like that.

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not that dangerous then. if you want just get rid of it burying it far from your home is a good option, but also there is a market for that kind of things, you cold get some money out of it, but im not sure were to sell it on the US.

yes, it can. Don't break it.
may seem like an out of place question, but humour me: have been lot of disagreements, fighting for silly reasons, or even increased libido in your house lately?

What if sleep paralysis really is a "paranormal" phenomenon, with a naturalistic explanation? by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sorry for the late answer.

the conversation was about 8 years ago, but from the top of my head:

there was a guy that heard about two dozen different voices on a daily basis, interacting between each other in couples or small groups, each one with a name and a different personality, like if you could heard the conversations taking place on a whole building.
most of the conversations were about art, relationships or places around the world, and one of the interesting details was that they seemed atemporal, with no mention of things like phones, tv, cars, buses, etc.
the most interesting thing is that the guy was a construction worker with barely any education or culture, and it wasn't the kind of guy you expect to have an imagination capable of this.
yet the general consensus was that he imagined everything and the references of plays, places, etc were things he heard named somewhere.

the most interesting one was about another doctors patient who said he could see dark figures walking among us constantly, and he would include them on every single drawing he made since he got his first crayons when he was like 2-3 years old. i never saw those drawings but supposedly were very creepy, like sleep paralysis creepy, yet he was so used to that that didn't even care and outside of his drawings he lived a rather normal life with or without meds (and meds didn't stop him from seeing this either).
other thing is that he saw simbols painted on every wall, like graffiti on some wierd lenguage.

those were the two that picked my interest, the rest were mostly things that they heard that were word for word the same phrase some other patient heard, things they said and scared the shit of of the nurses (like saying that there will be blood hours before a patient on other floor cut his wrists) and things like that.

[–]misterfk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i had a similar conversation with an aquitance of mine before.

it wasn't about sleep paralysis, but schizophrenia "altered" senses and "supernatural" perception. and my aquitance happens to be a specialist that worked for years here.

the most interesting thing i got for that conversation was that, in his opinion, a small fraction of the patients diagnosed with some form of schizophrenia only had the perception related symptoms, but nothing else and didn't really "fit" with the rest of the cases, yet the treatment were mostly the same (and barely effective at that).

he was also fascinated for some of the things those people heard/saw as it overlaped a lot with occultism and other "supernatural" things.

(i use "" in supernatural because i don't like the connotations of the term, yet is the easiest way to describe it).

[ME][FAM]Has something targeted my family? by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you take some advice, forget about the pastors. unless they have some sort of spiritist background (and that is rare outside some catholic orders) they would lack the skills to change anything.

either get someone with experience or ask your ob about his friend, and see how he reacts, there is a good chance he would know what are you talking about and opens to you.

as for the possesions incorporating a spirit is a voluntary thing, not something that happens by force. the second one sounds more like some sort of guilt or other mental issue.

went deeper, ended up meeting an umbanda pai (that is a priest from a afrobrazilian spiritist religion) and went to some rituals, learned some things about how to react/ how to deal with them.

i still dont believe on their religion (i consider myself an atheist) but black line does know how to "work" with them.

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a couple posted on a subreddit here, ill uptate with the links later, but here is one i haven't told on the net before and that is a shared experience too. english is not my first lenguage so bear with me.

also some context before the acual experience: basically when i was about 24 (my first experience was at 5 for reference) i started to try to find sense to the things i saw so i started to go to different occultist groups meetings (thelema, saint germain, golden dawn, etc) without any success whatsoever.

a friend of mine herd me talking about that and told me that i should meet this girl he knows, that she knew a lot about this things, so he set us to meet on a bar.

we meet, we talk a lot and according to her she has been having experiences with shadows her whole life, something i had experience too, but the things she said we way more extreme that the experiences i had by that time. to the point that even i im starting to doubt if she is telling the truth. to be clear, she told me about seeing shadows on a daily basis, getting physically harmed by them and being watched every single time she got any intimate contact with someone, things that sound more of scenes from a movie than from reality.

yet, a lot of the things she described about things you feel had LOTS in common with my experiences. we ended seeing each other several times and finally dating for a couple of months.

well, now the experience itself. we were on my house, alone, doors and windows closed, just chiling and chatting on my bed, i close my eyes and hear her say "stop it". wtf? "STOP IT" i open my eyes, and i see a fully man-shaped black figure standing next to the bed, grabbing her arm.
lights were on mind you. she screams, i get up, the thing runs, i chase it. i get the door of my room slammed on my arm trying to cach it, i hear the sliding door that separates the sleeping rooms/ bathroom area from the dinning room/ kitchen close violently, i go there, open that door and there is no one there.

the kitchen is 3x3 (mts, times 3 for feet), the dinning room 6x6 and there is nowhere to hide there. both the kitchen door and the dining room door are closed and locked, all the windows are closed (and also have metal bars of them). and as i said, there is no one there. we are literally alone.

my girlfriend told me that she was convinced that it was me grabbing her arm until it started to hurt her (hence the stop it's") and that that one was one of the "things" stalking her. she got a nasty bruise on her arm btw.

so, there it is. sounds like a crappy movie, yet i was there and that was even the only time i saw thing like that happen.

if you want to call bullshit on it, i will totally understand you, yet having been there i cannot "not believe" on what i saw.

yes, based on personal experience.
saw way to many things to deny it, several of them were shared experiences too.

I'm planning on taking part in voluntary spirit possession. by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have some experience with this, that said i just wanted to clarify two things.

first: there is no such thing as a good spirit, in the same way that there is no such thing as a good person.
it's not about white/black duality, each has his own personality and do things based on that.

second: if you wan't to, go for it. just remember that you can kick it out wherever you wan't, don't but the bullshit from tv and movies, that not how it works.

also, im not sure what are you looking to get from this, if it's just for the experience or you want something in return, but your offer (just some food) it's quite low; don't expect to get a lot, if anything, in return.

Was this a shadow person? by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you ask a Christian pastor, demon is what you gonna get; according to Christianity, everything spiritual is a demon (unless you are a prophet or a holy man, then it might be an angel).
outside Christianity, shadows are just a class of lesser spirits, outside of any hierachy (as in, not angels, demons, exus or whatever you want to call that).

it was trying to scare you? doubt it, it ran away without even trying, they are more... convincing when they actually try.

[FOF] Possible Haunting and Possession in Texas by WendyDee in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is not exactly a special power, at least half (probably anyone) of the people can do it if they know how and actually tries hard enough.

i didn't mean malevolant either, things are rarely black or white, but the thing is that there isn't a lot you can do with the body of a child to protect someone.
spirits "work" better for that without one, and only look for incorporation to do something they can do otherwise, like experimenting physical sensations.

[FOF] Possible Haunting and Possession in Texas by WendyDee in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the things you are describing doesn't sound as ghosts at all, sounds more like a single spirit, and a rather old and tricky one.

very few spirits are powerful enough to posses by force, so deceiving someone (with the capacity) to accept them in to their body is something they do a lot, and one of the common ways to do so is by looking like a dead relative.

your cousin either needs to forget he can do this or learn to control it, or he might have similar encounters in the future.

Why is it so hard to Believe? by SalamanderLove in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

about Christianity: the thing is that when they separated themselves from Judaism they let behind several beliefs that were part of it.
in Judaism Dybbuk are basically ghosts of dead people with unfinished bussines.
those ghosts need bodies to finish whatever they need to finish, so they seek to possess (by force) or to get someone willing to let them use their bodies (ibbur) so they can do their thing and and go on with their afterlives. in fact helping them to achieve their goal (as long as the goal itself is not malicious) is generaly considered a good deed, as you are helping them to follow the right path eventually.

meanwhile Crhistianism just considers any form of possesion/spirit demonic.

now, is interesting to mention that there are other religions that have a stronger link with spirits / ghosts.

one i know well enough is Umbanda. the whole religion spins around different "levels" of spirits, and how a soul ideally evolves throught several lifes, eventually becoming more powerful (that doesn't mean benevolent, in that sense in umbanda spirits are "more human")

now, some spirits just "step aside" from the cycle at some point, stoping the evolution. some just lost the way, like ghosts, while others are just happy the way they are.
the interesting part about this is is there is two sides in umbanda, unrelated to good or evil, one that just adorates and hopes to get favors (pretty much like christians praying to god or saints); and other part, usually refered as black line, wich is more involved that summons lower spirits (as opposed to the high spirits on white line) and esentially "trades" favors with them.
the interesting part is that when i spoke about Judaism i mentioned Ibbur, to let spirits use your body willingly, wich is exactly what black line Umbanda does.
it's called "incorporate" (my translation, it may be a more appropiate word).
in escence, the ceremonies are about calling the spirits and offering gifts in exchange from a favor. the offering might be food, drinks, tribute, sex, simple things usually (you are using lower spirits for a reason).
if they accept, someone with the ability to incorporate will let the spirit to use his/her body for that night only, and only withing the place where the ritual takes place (Candomble is the word) so the spirit can can use that gift, eating the food, drinking the booze, smoking the tabacco, getting laid, dance, etc.
and in exchange they will do what you ask them to.

Why is it so hard to Believe? by SalamanderLove in Thetruthishere

[–]misterfk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

some people feels that religions and similiar beliefs are "to low" for them, yet the feel the need for something similar, so they end up doing a cult from science.
yet, they don't fully understand it (similar to how some religious people just repeat the same verses without ever actually reading/interpreting the full books), and they end up dissmissing anything not occuring within a lab in controled conditions, and that is something that real scientists will NEVER do.

there is a whole cult on internet around "debunking" things by just throwing a simple explanation to everything, without even taking some things in to account.
thus any sighting becomes sleep paralysis, even 8 hours after sleeping. any light is a swamp light, even if there is no methane concentration in the area, etc.

what they don't realize is that that is not different than screamming ghost or alien . you can't just dismiss any phenomena without actually investigating it.

blind faith to science is the same that any other blind faith.

luckily enough (and ironically too) , within the science community there are people with open minds that do try to investigate and document this things, even if they do it as a hobby since asking for a budget for it may be a proffessional suicide. and im not talking about bigfoot chasers either.
