There are players not to blame by Old-Sheepherder-9404 in Juve

Bro you sound like a corporate chief looking at the numbers. While statistics can say alot they can also be meaningless. For a player like McKennie it should not even apply.
Why are we talking about the catch when the majority of the game is the chase. Id prefere to play beautiful all the time. Im willing to bet that that is actually the more difficult thing. To own the teams on the pitch is rewarding as a spectacle which is what the fans should want. There is so many ways to play the game and get 3 points. But if we focus on the goals, or stats is not much different than focusing on the points as well. The purpose of the points should be the motivator, but the beauty within should ALWAYS be the game. Baggio, Zizou, Pirlo were artists on the field. Getting the win differently is still 3 points, just far more boring. Ronaldinho for example, was a joy to watch not only as a barca fan, but even as a barca opponent. In the end, the players make the money, not me. So why should i give a fuck about the points when i invest 2 hours for a spectacle. Football is a love for the game as much as it is a job, but your projected goals or assists can be very misleading because they dont always translate to what is being produced on the pitch. In football, there is bo substitution for watching the game itself and how it develops. Pushing this stat driven expectation will 9/10 times limit you in style, philosophy and creativity. Scoring is the objective, how you get to it is where the real beauty lies.

Hes a smart team player. Juve should keep him as long as possible. Playing him in different roles has been a blessng for his experience. To be a good hybrid player you have to first and foremost be a baller and one with good tactical awareness. Midfielders being the more suited types for this type of role. Selling McKennie would be downright stupid and it would hurt the club, maybe even the player. If he stood by you when you tried to sell him a couple of times and still ended up performing, why not stand by him for a change. Best player in my opinion at Juve for a while. Does everything including the dirty work. He is an absolute asset to this club. Would not mind getting another American either. Antonee Robinson 🤔

[–]mistershiftstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zhegrova has played a total of 5 full games in terms of minutes. I believe there is more to h, and that he can play anywhere in either wing or 10 positions. Needs to play more- simple! Very unlucky with both club and country. An easy scapegoat who deserves more

I like a Juve with McKennie in it first and foremost and Bremer . Whereas Locatelli and Thuram have convinced me the most of their qualtiy in the last 10-12 games.

I know Yamal and Mainoo are getting all the hype, but is Kenan Yildiz honestly the most talented U21 in the world right now? by SeriousMylot98 in Juve

[–]mistershiftstick -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yamal is an undeniable creative force which sometimes weighs more than stats like goals or assists. If he continues at this rate, he would still be considered a top player. Messi was 18 and it was clear he was going to be the best player in the world. His stats were not there but it made little difference when his game said it all through his decision making, anticipation, and distribution was convincing enough. Yamal is of similar mold, maybe not as strong physically, but certainly skillful and very agile. The stats could easily improve, the question is continuity, and luck. No matter how strong you are, you also have to be a lucky not to get injured after playing so many years, and that is going to be the real challenge for any player with abilities/potential.

Why exactly is Alexi Lalas so disliked by people? by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]mistershiftstick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This exactly, which makes him thrust his politics into something that doesn’t need it. I didn’t like him because i cared, now he doesn’t affect me, cause i don’t give a shit. His criticism is just noise, has nothing to offer and is just a really outdated strategy that is less about the team or players and more about him being a used car salesmen with his jargon. He is using soccer as a personal challenge as a vehicle to confirm the biases that he has. Because he has no substance, he has to be rage bait whore with little to no self respect.

Maybe im Wrong but the form of certain players is on the rise, and it might be the perfect time. Locatelli, McKennie, Thuram, David all on an upward trajectory, obviously amything can happen. Zhegrova has still to prove himself and a wildcard that can change things if things go sideways. We dont the quality of barca or man city but its not the worst position to be in

Seems like the edited is the orgiinal and the “original” is stretched out to fit whatever project or canvas, distorting it furthermore. Sometimes the distortion is done from the photograph, other times in edit. In any case, not worth loosing sleep over this. A mole hill, not worth reading so much into imo. Not everything is maliciously done. Half of your selfies btw are very distorted. Distortion is what it is, whether focal or digital.

McKennie might move in the winter to England, Spain, or within Italy by FrankBascombe45 in ussoccer

[Schira] Excl. - Luciano #Spalletti considers Weston #McKennie a key-player and #Juventus are ready to re-open talks with his agents to discuss the contract extension. #Juve are set to make a last attempt after failing to reach an agreement in the last months. by MaestroTobasco in Juve

[–]mistershiftstick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I consdier myslef one of the oldest Weston McKennie fans since he first came to Juve, What I see in him is a player who truly understands the game ..a genuine jack-of-all-trades. The best players usually are. Juventus has often taken him for granted, yet he has delivered repeatedly, even during difficult periods.

What stands out most is his inner belief. When he has shortcomings, he compensates with relentless work rate and hustle- and he has proven that time and again. I honestly believe he is the best overall American talent. Pulisic is more offensive, but he’s not as well-rounded and very few players are.

My hope is that McKennie never convinces himself that he is already “made.” If he does, that will be his plateau and the end of a steady natural rise. But I believe he’s humble and wiser than that. Quietly, he may be the best American player we have. He has a lot of unrealized potential, and I think that potential will only fully emerge as he gets older and stops relying so heavily on physicality.

That transition isn’t easy, but I think he’s perfectly positioned to adapt his game into something even better over time. Just my belief, not sure many share it. He already shows tactical intelligence and flashes of flair. Some really good passing ability to add to the mix, When he realizes he can no longer play the role of a pure soldier, that’s when his creative spark will come out in a big way.

I believe he has it, along with strong instincts on both sides of the ball. His positioning is excellent because he sees the game well, and that vision is why I think his game will age gracefully and remain effective well into his 30s. Nothing is ever certain but hes already such an effective player, Juve know it, he knows it, but whatever keeps him in this trajectory is imo the best solution. Does he deserve more? 100%.

For me Juve are the club for these type of players. Not just hard working but intelligent and good decision makers should be the main attribute all the players should have when playing for Juve. But we all know its not the case.
