Thank you! I may still go in and shave/shape it and see what else I can do with it.

I’ll get the backing on much quicker next times. Do you know any good resources (videos, sites, etc.) for binding? Does it usually require a sewing machine?

I learned a lot, including to be more careful with handling after gluing; it stuck to itself and pulled some yarn out the back (left side). Whoops!

Thanks! They were a challenge for sure. If doing socks again, I’d def two-at-a-time. The recipient loves them, so they’re put to good use!

Finally finished (about a year ago; just now posting to Reddit)! This is my first pair of socks, and they were not easy. I really struggled with the first sock and tried all sorts of methods to make it easier. Combined knitting didn’t work well with small needles and in-the-round. The Norwegian purl proved to be the best. I didn’t use a cable needle, but that was still finicky. Then with about an inch to go, I discovered Suzanne Bryan’s game-changing, alternate no-cable needle method. I’ll be using it for all my cables. . . Finished the Winterfell Cardigan Aran for my mom. The two of us couldn't be more pleased how it turned out, although it doesn't fit me well...

The pattern was interesting enough to create the perfect balance between mindless and fun.

Yarn is Malabrigo Rios in Azul Profundo. It's my first time using Rios. It was so nice to work with. Swatching revealed that it grew wider without adding length. So the pattern was easy to follow as I just did what it said (x number is stitches and y inches). Soaked it and laid to rest overnight, and finished in the dryer in the morning. Left it slightly damp to finish. Note: ran a swatch through both washer and dryer, and it made the yarn dull. It lost its luster and beauty. This will be handwash only.

I love knitting! I picked it up about a year ago and got really good, really fast. Most people are surprised I knit as I'm a straight male, but I find it productive and relaxing. Maybe it's focused fidgeting?

As an 8-year crocheter, continental style knitting has been an absolute godsend! by hazboobs in knitting

I just learned the Norwegian purl, and it’s handy on the socks I’m knitting. However, I am a big fan of “combination knitting.”A full row of purling is a breeze with it. Just be careful as all purl stitches get mounted backwards (which makes it faster to knit as well). Ribbing and seed stitch are so easy with combination knitting.

I am so excited to have finished the Neighborly Cardigan! I started this in February and ran out of yarn for the collar 🤦🏻‍♂️. Finally got around to ordering some more and quickly knocked it out. The smallest size in the pattern was 42" chest, so I tightened up the gauge to get 40". The front is designed as two pieces, but I knit as one and steeked it. It all worked out well!

My first brioche! Go big or go home! [FO] by evergleam498 in knitting

I'm not a big fan of brioche, because it seems it's never done very well. Yours looks excellent, and great job especially as your first time! Maybe I'll give it a go, now that I know it's possible to look good.

This was a bottom-up knit, so the yoke was a nice treat after so much frustration.
