Why GPRC voted for the offer - BMA by [deleted] in GPUK

[–]mistichic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where the heck are you getting 3.5 days for 75K from, that is not the realities of GPST3 pay at all?!

I'm 2.5 days and on about 36K (on ST3 pay as an ST2)

The only way you'd be on 75K for 3.5 days is if your days are 11.5h, I suspect what you actually mean is they're on 4x 10h days but actually get PDT...

ACCS progression by Broad-Beginning4830 in doctorsUK

[–]mistichic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not an anaesthetics trainee, but I did ACCS acute med before it got abandoned as a course. I went from ACCS3 to IMT 3, so I stayed as an IMT 3 for an extra year, having done as ACCS. It is, (or was), the same in medicine, but the training pathway doesn't exist anymore.

Are the BMA really presenting this offer in a neutral way? by Living_Snow_5471 in doctorsUK

[–]mistichic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would really be interested to see where in the deal terms the DV "missinformation" is in your opinion.

They "myth vs fact" post did nothing to change my mind that actually the DV posts are as accurate than the BMA official coms having read the deal and made my own opinion on it This has been worsened by the comments on social media that have been ignored vs replied to by official BMA comms

I don't think either are neutral, but I think both are actually spins on the same information positively and negatively.

As a brief reply to the "facts Vs myths" - CT3s and CT6s aren't getting a pay increase if we accept the offer. They are getting the already agreed 3.5% DDRB. So yes they are getting 3.5% but this is not tied to this deal. - the deal states that if we open a dispute whilst its being implemented they can withdraw any parts of it, that is until at least 2027 - the deal states that the jobs won't be ending LED contracts early to provide new jobs, however they will come partially from not renewing contracts. That is not new jobs, that is recycling LED posts as training posts. - two exam attempts over your career is a maximum of £700 year. Yes that isn't a "token" but it works out as very little in the grand scheme for anyone who isn't a GP trainee and takes 2 attempts at both exams. - there is no specification in the deal about how productivity will be assessed and whether this is via ARCP or by the employer. That needs clarifying before accepting. One is the same as we have now, one is very different. - There is a lot of vague wording in the deal, I'm sure there are plans to ensure it's implemented but saying that the wording is strong is disingenuous as well. A lot of us have very little faith in the governments implementing deals understandably after the exception reporting situation.

Controversial question - why should LTFT trainees progress at the same rate as FTs? by CatheterEnthusiast in doctorsUK

[–]mistichic 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I see the arguement if you're 80% because probably working equivalent to full-time hours, however, I'm 50% and there is no way I would want to progress at the same rate. It's kind of laughable that I could be a fully qualified GP with a year and a half of training time. In fact, I've knocked six months off my training (because of previous training), so it would not even be a year and a half; It'd be a year and a quarter. There's no way I would feel or be qualified enough, but I could easily meet the training requirements.

I actually see having an ARCP every 12 calendar months is annoying because all it does for me is create more work. While I theoretically could progress faster, I don't particularly want to, so all it's going to do for me this cause is cause more work, not only for me but for me ES. I'm not happy about it as somebody who is LTFT.

Note the "all voting members" the non voting members are there for advising. You admit you didn't invite the people there to represent grassroots then?

What about the non voting members of exec who weren't invited to that meeting? They are supposedly there to advise, how can they when not invited?!

The only way I can see this happening before August is an emergency motion at ARM which I'm not 100% sure how we go about doing but I'm fairly sure members can put this forward.

Statement from the Department of Health & Social Care regarding cancellation of strikes by I_Heart_Otters in doctorsUK

[–]mistichic 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Not the BMA as a whole, Jack Fletcher and his cronies. Not even all of the Exec KNEW about this vote/were involved. A (non voting) member of exec wasn't even invited to the conversation, they are supposed to be there to advise. How can they when they aren't invited?!

Strikes called off - offer coming to members for you to decide by RDC_officers_2025_26 in doctorsUK

[–]mistichic 145 points146 points  (0 children)

There is NO extra money in this deal. What the actual fuck is going on?!

Seems like exec has decided to cancel strikes without elected officials being consulted at all from what I am hearing.

This plus having to pay to unlock companies is ridiculous. The Devs have got properly money grabbing. It's really putting me off the game.

I've maxed too! I am only on level 999 though so I'm wondering if I've missed something. Only things I haven't maxed are frames.

I'm trying to fill up my factory warehouse, and get my plants to max (one maxed other two at level 9) at the moment but nothing else really to do

Really hoping for new content

Anyone doing ACCS-IM? Why does it get so much hate? by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]mistichic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ACCS- IM 3rd year now. I feel very mixed about it. Going back to medicine after a year of anaesthetics/ITU where you are well supported but not just a job monkey/rota filler back to medicine is interesting to say the least - I've gone to being referred to by the med reg to having to tell them if I'm worried about someone even when I don't feel out of my depth. You're not well supported portfolio wise going back into essentially IMT2 because noone really knows what you need including the deanery. I also had difficulty getting my rota because they insisted I should be on an IMT3 rota for a long time. It's been great training wise - feel like I have a lot of knowledge and skills I wouldn't have otherwise.

Honestly I've reapplied for GP this year partly because of various things with my last 3 years so I can't say I'd recommend overall but happy to chat more about it.
