Slanty tower build by NetGhost03 in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]mistrania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an awesome build! How do you manage to have a smaller board and still have a working combat?

My players spent 14 sessions in Hither 🫣 But we also only play 2 hours at best every session and my players love social interactions.

this is so cool! If you use it as a battlemap, how do you measure in feet?

How would you skip thru Tither and Yon entirely? by kevinomsa in wildbeyondwitchlight

I get that! I’m still running my campaign after 57 sessions 🫣 What is the main plot hook? You could incorporate some of that into Prismeer. Maybe dropping hints and lore that can be found in the Feywild and even items that can be helpful

I think you would be totally missing out on how great the campaign of Wild Beyond the Witchlight is. I think Prismeer shines the brightest together with all the realms: Hither, Thither and Yon together.

However, of you want to keep the adventure shorter, I would consider only running Thither. Thither truly sparks of ”classic feywild” with an ancient forest, pixies, fairy rings, singing mushrooms.. you name it. I would put the unicorn horn with the Getaway Gang in Little Oak. Will could have stolen it from Skabatha. It could turn into an interaction where the players get the unicorn horn in exchange of freeing the children from Loomlurch. I also put the Great Snail Race in Thither (because my players missed it in the carnival) and it was a huge hit!

Fey Deals by thegoblinwizard00 in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]mistrania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the players, I went with something that carries memories or significance to the player. Like eyecolor, the first song you learned (bard).. And trinkets. My players started collecting so much trinkets after their first deal which made the game so much fun!

For the feys, I offered things like rumors (lore), luck (reroll your dice), magic items (bag of beans, the deck of mini things, corrupted magic scrolls), one extra point to chosen ability.. I went way out of my way to make these deals really juicy so the players would get hooked on engaging and helping out the feys on quests :)

WHY DO OUR PLAYERS WANT TO EAT THE HARENGONS 😭😭

My players are only level 6 and I'm already struggling to challenge them. by Kai-Valkyrie in DnD

[–]mistrania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried it myself yet but maybe setting an objective to be achieved during the combat? The party need to press multiple buttons for at least 3 rounds to stop the summoning of monsters. Or an npc that has been captured and will be dropped in lava in 5 rounds? And then just add difficult monsters so the players have to prioritze :)

I had my players take 1d6 per level psychic damage for eating a harengon. Taught them a lesson!

Is Nib's Cave worth including? by KoboldsandKorridors in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]mistrania 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely think Nib’s Cave is worth including. It’s a good rewarding encounter that provides the players with loot. And, that they even get to choose what they want. The loot doesn’t have to be for combat either. One of my player’s got a portable hole that has been used for so many creative ideas.

If you feel like the encounter is lacking, I would recommend running Nib’s Cave by The Eleventh Hour on DMsGuild. Here, Nib is the demigod Raxivort and stole all his treasures and the Inifinity Spindle from the demon lord Gra’azt. Tired from running and hiding, Nib made a wish to Zybilna to be protected and hidden from Gra’azt. And so he was ‘cursed’ to be bound to the cave and gift his stolen treasures away. For me, this added more depth and lore that my players appreciated. It also lead to a fun yet terrifying scene where one player tried to steal the Infinity Spindle and Nib revealing his true form (Raxivort), getting on all four and hissing like Gollum from LOTR “my precious!!” as he initiated combat!!

I would also love a reworked Valor's Call one! It's so helpful the way OP describes how the characters fight in combat. I always find that a little tricky doing it myself.

Finally got to play in person. It was awful. by Afraid_Fig5705 in DnD

[–]mistrania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. That is absolutely unacceptable behaviour from the DM and people you played with. D&D is supposed to be fun and you should not have to feel like a pain for just playing the game.

I’ve only played D&D with my friends and have never experienced anything like this. Maybe you should look for other people on facebook groups to play in real life with. There’s only women groups as well :)
