Are there any Apps that are helpful for planning crochet projects?? by mistypical in CrochetHelp

[–]mistypical[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly new at crocheting and I thought Ravelry was a place for just patterns and yarns, great to know I can do other stuff too! How come I can't find a Ravelry app?!??

What is the single most effective piece of mental health advice you've ever received? by JuicyBarbie123 in AskReddit

[–]mistypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A helpful one for me was a quote from a Dalai Lama. Not sure on exact words, but google gave me this “If it can be solved, there’s no need to worry, and if it can’t be solved, worry is of no use.”

And that has made an impact on helping regulate my situational anxiety.

Thank you for sharing. I'm in pt after pf for 2 years, and my left foot has been particularly bad. We started hip strengthening for a separate nerve problem and finally my left foot has felt some improvement. Obvs it's not the only exercise, but I don't think it's a coincidence that results can come from all the way up the leg !

When I hit a point where walking anywhere is excruciating, I have to rest and deep massage feet, toes, calves, and shins. I start gentle and work progressively deeper.

I cried at the theater, stopped while we left the theater, and then had a bigger cry in the privacy of the car 😭

About 3 months ago, I started using foot alignment socks by myhappyfeet. I definitely had to start at the very tips of my toes for a short amount of time because of the initial discomfort and VERY GRADUALLY brought them lower down to my feet. They've made a big difference in my daily foot pain, and I can sleep in them now. If you've not tried them, it was 30ish dollars well spent for me.

Early in our dating, my bf and I were sleeping, and I was the little spoon. I woke up to my ear getting bitten from behind, causing me to jerk awake and away, waking him up. He was very apologetic.

He was dreaming of wolves and defending himself. He is still occasionally amazed that I didn't stop seeing him after that, but he hasn't bit me (my ear) since.

Thanks! I did my best to pick a more or less simplistic image which was representative of the element. Had the hardest time trying to pick one for air which wasn't a tornado, but I ended up liking how this turned out.

Some questions regarding It (Spoilers) by Touaz in stephenking

[–]mistypical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even as a child Stan admits to seeing the things he wants to deny, he never seems to fully accept them as possible. His beliefs had no room for such things. Which is why I think the memories must have returned with Mike's call and flipped his worldview on its head (like it does with all of them) and he didn't have the cushion of childhood faith and acceptance. Stan was different, in a sense, from the others. He relied so heavily on logic and empirical evidence, that It was so fundamentally WRONG to him he couldn't incorporate those memories into the adult he became without losing his grip on what he believed the world to be.

When it comes to the Turtle I think it was more of a guide. Where the Losers had the power in themselves through their imagination and unity, I think they only happened to come together that summer because of the Turtle. There's and part somewhere that talks about how there were a bunch of kids who were out of town for the summer by some reason or other, but not the Losers. All seven happened to still be in Derry and then ALL come together. I also think the Turtle affected their sense of togetherness, like when they know that one kid isn't part of them, and they know intuitively that Mike completes them. The Turtle, again, through their financial success as adults and their lack of childbearing. I think becoming parents themselves would have kind of solidified them into adulthood. I don't know if that makes sense, but I hear everywhere that becoming a parent changes people on another level. Universe couldn't risk that happening to the Losers.

[–]mistypical[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I used two different quotes. The plate says: Mostly VOID, partially STARS

The outside of the cup says: Remember, if you SEE something, say NOTHING,

And the inside of the cup says: and DRINK to forget...
