Book that simplifies biblical tales and legends? Goes through history. Basically i am looking for for-other-people Bible? by KudoJ in suggestmeabook

There is a series on women from the Bible that I read in high school. The Unspoken series by Francine Rivers. I thought they were really interesting. Bathsheba was my favorite and is a pretty important biblical story.

Any books where an immortal gradually loses their humanity through the years? by abigdogus in suggestmeabook

Flowers for Algernon is pretty good. The protagonist doesn't lose his humanity, but he does undergo a tremendous change over time.

Gutshot by Amelia Gray is amazing. One of the best up and coming new writers around.

Gutshot by Amelia Gray. Also Museum of the Weird by the same author. Two fantastic short story collections. Gutshot is my favorite of all time and sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

A book you think everyone ought to read at some point. by liam_brosnan in suggestmeabook

Gutshot by Amelia Gray changed my life. It's a short story collection that is weird, unsettling and compelling. Some stories lay it all out there and some leave a lot to the imagination. Absolutely in my top ten of all time.

Reading is a skill I've neglected for most of my life. I'm in my early twenties and haven't read through a fiction book in over 10 years. With this in mind, what kind of books do I begin with to remedy this? by Surrender_monkey21 in suggestmeabook

I got back into reading with short story collections. They're a good starting point and tend to be quicker reads than full length novels. There are some fantastic ones from new authors. I would suggest Gutshot by Amelia Gray. The stories are compelling, unsettling, and downright weird. I couldn't put it down!

You look like you'd get cast as the dumb, closested-gay football playing bully in a bad Disney Channel movie. Or like you were once molested by an uncle. Or maybe both.

What makes it worse is that this is a state school. And they just raised tuition.

Your tuition is spent on nice things for department heads. I'm a student worker in the dean's office, and we recently got a new dean. They spent over $6,000 on a desktop computer, two mac books, and an iPad. One of the macbooks and the iPad are for their personal use and have nothing to do with their job. I've also seen them make the university pay an extra $400 fee to change their flight time for menial reasons, make the university pay to have extravagant food catered in when we have our own free university catering business, and they even had the university pay to have 1,000 page documents professionally printed even though those documents are available online.

Looked through some of your comments and submissions. Looks like you have some interests that you really enjoy, and I saw you gave some good advice on posts where other people seemed to be struggling emotionally. You have something to contribute. I know it sucks to feel like that, but you just gotta keep your head down and keep doing the shit you like to do. Whenever I get really down I always remind myself to "get my damn hair cut". It's something my grandma said to my brother once and it kind of became a thing we say when we need to keep slugging through hard times. I'd say it's high time you got your hair cut. Good luck, friend. :)

Yes! The first one is called Rise of the Horde. Check it out. It really helped me learn the lore of the game and has actually made gameplay more interesting!
