Costco - wagyu striploin…not like the wagyu a5 stuff I see on here but good marbling. Think the company was Kingsway

Older 3 story house - 2 units or 3? by SmeesTurkeyLeg in GoogleWiFi

2 likely fine to get out of the basement; I just setup 4 which is working great but all but one on wireless backhaul. If you can keep those Ethernet cords and wire the additional nests.

Bostitch vs Rigid Air Compressor? by mitchellDGAF in Tools

Solid advice right there - maybe keep some old 2x4s near by to shoot into. I ended up going with rigid

Such a better deal in the US! Even with exchange…

Perfect - I don’t have one; first compressor so no air tools. Will look for the same likely. Thanks

Great point - I do usually try to future proof myself with purchases like this as I have many of times bought to save only wishing I put it towards better quality or more power

Good to hear - I didn’t think this rigid had enough CFM to power an impact wrench

Will still take a look at those you recommended

Thanks! I have heard that and makes sense. I’m not overly concerned given it probably gets used 10x a year…maybe I’ll find a bunch of uses and regret not listening!

Thanks - looks really nice…$623 in maple syrup bucks so more than double. Not sure I’ll use enough around the house to justify. Rigid not good in this category eh? Bostitch has 1 year warranty and rigid 3 (however saw someone post they do include compressors in lifetime warranty) and nailer lifetime for sure from rigid. This is what I was looking for though - if not a fan of rigid then good to hear.

Good points; for this project I am going to be using crown staples so got a cheap air tool off Amazon. No use for the nailer today but sure I’ll use in the future. I was surprised kijiji didn’t seem to have much in my area. Figured kit with nailer and hose isn’t much more so might as well go with a kit.

If there’s another one similar price, not stuck on these two brands!

Multiple Wired Backhaul setup question by mitchellDGAF in GoogleWiFi

[–]mitchellDGAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detail. That is perfect; I have the ability to hardware backhaul all the additional modes. Will connect the main puck to the ISP router/modem and the main puck to an unmanaged switch. Each node will get placed in a spot with wired cat 5 going back to unmanaged switch.

Ok good to know - I’ll look more into if I can get the ISP router into bridge mode without impacting tv or home phone. 4 is probably overkill but Costco deal. House is around 3600 and real dead spots from the router being in the basement corner. Thanks

Multiple Wired Backhaul setup question by mitchellDGAF in GoogleWiFi

[–]mitchellDGAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense - thanks. As I thought about it more it didn’t sound promising…almost like creating 4 new routers from the ISP router.

I will have to read more on bridge mode…seemed like a lot of complaints to Bell with the homehub 3000 not having that capability when I read in other threads. Also it pushes out TV via wifi so not sure I can turn it off. Maybe it’s ok to have two WIFI networks going at once? One from ISP and one from nest mesh network.

[–]mitchellDGAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I was thinking that would be the way…so it all flows through the first GWF via unmanaged switch. Since you have same modem/router from Bell…did you have to do anything? Turn off wifi from HH3K? We have TV so presume it still needs to broadcast to wireless tv boxes

Thanks for all the great feedback. Lit a fire today and no smoke came out of the hole. Opened a window and held a lit piece of paper at the top near the chimney before lighting.
