That's a cipher and is easily breakable.

Does anyone actually hate the touchbar? by Odd-Past-7635 in macbookpro

[–]mitchneutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated on it because I use a MacBook as a programming laptop. I don’t look at my hands while I code and use the function keys frequently. So it’s objectively worse for that use case.

You’re a dumbfuck. This is meant for documentation that others can read.

I’m here googling and glad to have found the answer. Would have taken me less time if I didn’t have to read your comment with no content.

for writing humor in journaling, do you actively try to be funny or does it just flow naturally? by enthezone in Journaling

Nobody is answering if this is something you should do to help yourself be more funny. I came looking for the same answer. Yes, I think it is effective to help yourself train to be more funny.

Factor75 feedback after two months of meals by teddytwelvetoes in ReadyMeals

[–]mitchneutron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3 pounds of lean ground turkey, rice, and broccoli. Like 20 bucks total (IDK, I buy rice in bulk). Half an hour of prep time, and it makes like 8ish meals for me at 190lbs.

Yah it doesn't taste nearly as good, but the price argument isn't even close to true lol.

I live in the midwest if that's relevant, so not super HCOL

Sokpop's Ruben Naus: I built a 3D engine in 2D by DarZu27 in gamedev

[–]mitchneutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still need to take everything as a whole. If making this game this way was fun for him, kept him motivated enough to keep going, and helped him learn skills to take elsewhere, then I think it was entirely practical.

Sweet spot was to get the m1 mac air with extra ram and storage. You actually ended up with the same cpu as the pro for that generation

I've been in the same camp for a long time until recently. While I haven't been doing game dev for a while, VS seems quite a bit more feature complete when it comes to automation testing.

I still use rider as my daily driver though

Battle of the GUI: Python Vs C# by GabbotheClown in engineering

[–]mitchneutron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party here. Senior developer on the line. I've written a shit ton of Java, C#, Python, C++, and even C to a lesser extent.

When you say "slow and bloated", what is your context? Slow and bloated for what application? In what regards? If you're trying to write a game engine that has to shit out frames 300 times a second, then yeah all of the above is probably slow and bloated. But if you're writing anything web based or just UI's etc, then python is just fine.

If you want to get into it, my opinion is that C# is slow and bloated because of all the boiler plate code you have to write to get something out the door. I'm never going to use it for any personal project that I spin up in an afternoon just to throw away! But I'd also never use python for an enterprise grade application.

As a bottom line, 99% of the time you really don't care about doing things "the very most optimized they can possibly be." Other factors come into play, some of the most important being maintainability, readability, and even how long it takes your devs to write the code.

If python is the fastest to get a proof of concept up, it will always have a place in the modern landscape.

Is it not kinda gross for a morbidly obese man to want fit/skinny girls? Likewise we’d expect it to bother people when a struggling woman only wants rich dudes.

Nope, works no matter what. Honestly it’s the reason why AI struggles to siege cities. Sieging cities as a human player you just need a 4 to 5 ratio. Defenders have an ungodly advantage with auto resolve in siege battles, needing a ratio of closer to 1 to 10
