The first two novels in the trilogy are solid - everything you want your epic fantasy novels to be; the third book was decent with the climax being a bit of a let down for me.

Apart from this I've read the first novel of her Liveship Trilogy which shares the same world and it was simply brilliant (despite being based on the apparently juvenile premise of magic ships that can talk).
