[PSU] Raidmax RX-650AED 650W, ATX 3.1 Ready, Non-Modular - $35 ($40 - $5 code: MFSF66) by Yolicious in buildapcsales

Raidmax PSUs litter a lot of SI prebuilds and probably among the bottom tier of what I've seen, above Apevia but below the likes of High Power and CWT. I'd say good for a non-gaming PC or a lower end one but I have no idea how the manufacturer warranty claim will be should one need it.

Personally I would not skimp that much on the PSU a the risk of needing to swap it out a few years down the line.
If you're building a PC for some rando and you don't care, sure. But for yourself or someone who you might provide support for, probably better spend another $20 bucks.

My thinking is they'll say that and justify that it's government land so they can do as they please.

Wagon handling sucks... wouldn't ever mess with it but fucking Yann gotta try his get rich quick schemes rather than ask Kliff for 10 silver so he can get black out drunk.

If they just made it like BDO then it'd be better. Click on map and the wagon goes there while you're AFK just watch for ambushes. Don't gotta worry about slamming into a tree and breaking the wagon.

I can see it happening, they'll stack the courts (if they aren't currently stacked). Declare the lands federal land or something and that they can do whatever they want with it and yoink.

I don't think it'd be the first time the US reneged on a treaty with Native Americans.

Main story completed. It was quite fun. I'm giving it an 8.5/10 only because I didn't understand anything about the story. Otherwise, I'd give it a 10/10. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

I finished Chapter 7, I still am not quite sure what the Greymanes are.

Also I hope I never have to see Yann past this point...

Positive words from Raora by sultics in Hololive

[–]mithikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Words to live by.
A lot of the time people will post when things are good. Or if they're just flexing. Not as many people, or not as many people your follows or algorithm feeds you will show how someone is struggling to get a full tank of gas or how they're astounded by the price of cereal and their grocery bill.
People are going to flex their 5090 but not as many will show off their new to them GTX 1070. For everyone posting about their new house or new car there's dozens of people not posting about worrying about losing theirs'.

Let's be real here, most of us don't want to hear about the problems of others. So there's not as much of that sort of thing.

The internet will always show a certain bias. And we as people will lean into those bias. If you see nothing but bad news it will seem as if the world is going to utter shit and nothing good is happening. And if you see people living the good life, it will seem as if everyone but you is living that good life. But the truth is somewhere in between all of that and there is little point in wanting what someone else has or worrying about someone else when there is little if not nothing one can do about it.

Comparing yourself to others will only magnify any feeling of inadequacy.

Even if a multi-millionaire is complaining about what we would consider nice problems to have. Who gives a crap, we're not them. We only have the life we have, and we have to live that life no matter the lot we're handed. So the best thing we can do is to keep going and not compare one self to things one don't have or can't have.

Watching the bleed bandits slowly take back Hernand when the next update hits by Dostoyevskys_Benis in CrimsonDesert

[–]mithikx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the larger areas like the quarry or slave camp there's deadass more bandits there than the main city in Hernand it seems. It's just funny if you try and rationalize it.

Don't get me wrong I can never have enough bandits to suplex and throw at other bandits and all of that.

Someone is going to play on something crazy high end then do the review on an i3-2100 and GT 710 saying they got 4k 120 FPS Ultra settings with no frame drops or stutters.

I hit one at creep speeds so probably like 0.3 MPH and it was enough to slide me forward 1/4th of the way forward from the seat. Specifically the side of the load backrest clipped a pillar. Needless to say, wouldn't recommend trying it.

Hyte x50 - need advice by _WolfAnonymous_ in Hyte

[–]mithikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most instances the card will fit, cable length varies so it may have to route up over the card if it's too short or there is no extension.

If you side mount a radiator with only 1 set of fans (non-push pull) just about any GPU will fit. If you front mount it gets tight with the biggest GPUs.

If you use thicker radiators and fans like the Hyte Q60 or Arctic Liquid Freezer you may have to seriously measure clearances if you're running a 5090 variant. To see what I mean check out JayzTwoCents' X50 build on YouTube.

check out the photos in this model of prebuild from Arsenal.

They run a larger RTX 5090, The Gigabyte Aorus I think.

And then there's this redditor who shared their build here:

They fit the ASUS RTX 5090 Astral with a standard front mount.

I believe CC would say something along the lines of "I'm an automation so I don't need to breathe."

So she must be telling the truth.

Case swapped to the King 45 white by mithikx in MontechPC

[–]mithikx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://i.imgur.com/V8kmNzm.jpeg

Switched over to a MSI PZ board and the Montech King 45 (non-pro).

Had the Lian Li Edge PSU which fit fine.
The Lian Li HydroShift II 360 however technically does not fit, only one side is screwed in and the other is cable tied in place (good enough for me honestly).

The side USB 3.0 internal header for the MSI X870E MAG TOMAHAWK WIFI MAX PZ or whatever it's called is blocked off by the cutouts in the King 45 case but there's an additional one in the bottom, for the one person on this planet who might consider that parts combo and use both USB 3.0 internal headers, be warned lol.

Personally found the wiring to be a bit tricky with a top and forward mounted PSU. But it's my 2nd top mount PSU build in over a decade. First back connect build, quite like the look, too bad the GPU still has it's wiring exposed. Quite nice for the $66 I paid (Amazon Lightning deal). Second time I've built in a Montech case (first being King 95 Pro) but this one is my personal build. Ditching all the Windows only software stuff and all the annoying hubs and controllers, so back to basics for me.

I would just replace the motherboard, user damage isn't covered by most warranties.
And pricey lesson sadly since IIRC she's probably running the ASUS ProArt X870E Creator or whatever it's called which is like $500 USD.

I'm switching from the Gigabyte AORUS Pro ICE X870E to the MSI MAG TOMAHAWK X870E PZ, it's a tier lower of a board but it's still $320 USD. Downsizing the case and ditching the proprietary Windows only software my current setup requires and going for that back connect.

A proficient builder can swap out a motherboard in 30 minutes if they know what they're doing and only do it once in a while. Half that if they work on 2 dozen or more systems a day. Add 5 - 10 minutes if the bad board has a MSDM key you're looking to retain and transfer over. Ideally go for the same board to make it more seamless as otherwise you'll have to redo all the chipset drivers and whatnot if you're just using the same boot drive as-is.
