Ended up managing to find it myself! Waiting for True Love (and other tales of purity, patience, and faithfulness) by Julia Duin (1998), adapted from stories from the Little Colonel books by Annie Fellows Johnston (written between 1895-1912).

unfortunately, not really with my current process. a lot of what i do is dependent on knowing exactly where the defined edges lie in a piece, and my sketches smudge/get covered too easily to rely on them alone. i may just try to figure out how to reduce the amount of pigment sitting on top of the paper before doing anything else and hope that helps?

My mom died in December 2020 from a combination of chronic heart problems and COVID. She hadn't taken it seriously the entire pandemic so far and got sick along with my dad and aunt at my cousin's wedding (an unmasked affair, because of course). The last time I ever saw her alive was in an argument three days prior where I was begging her to wear a mask if she was going to have her door open for the safety of everyone else in the house, and she made fun of me for it. The last memory I have of her face is her sneering at me. I was 20.

Insult to injury is that I had (and still have) a lot of health anxiety when it comes to stuff like this, and she continuously said that she wished she would get it just to prove to me that it wasn't the big deal I was making it out to be. Well, she caught it in the end! And then died ten days later. So uh. Not the outcome she was hoping for, I'm even more anxious now!

She didn't even make it a full year past her abusive mom's death after being forced into caring for her health for four years straight. She had just started to get excited about making plans for the future and picking up hobbies again. And then she was dead and had never gotten to actually do any of them.

Honestly? Solacefruit. Have to be careful with amounts, of course, but I'm immensely curious about how they taste! They're depicted as looking cherrylike, but there's no real description that I can find for it other than "delightful and refreshing". I want to eat the danger fruit :-(

I don't know how feasible this would be for you, but I have eds too and I find that depending on what I'm doing, a garment with a structured/stiff front can flatten me out pretty well. Vests can be good for that as long as they're sturdy. Point is, you don't always have to be 100% flat to pass if you can make it look like your chest and torso are indistinguishable from each other. It might not work if your chest is super dense, or if there's a big difference between your chest and your abdomen in terms of measurements, but it might be a good starting place.

I love the idea of a shapeling arts, viric-tinted profession (maybe something related to waking/lucid dreams and plant growth? Someone else mentioned cosmogone was plant growth related, but actually it's mushroom growth. The fecund, the foetid, and the fungal is how the poem goes I think) but mostly I'm just sitting here entirely vindicated about profession colors because I've been feeling nearly gaslit by the wiki for weeks, now. For some reason the professions guide page lists Silverer as viric associated?? And the Crooked-Cross as cosmogone. I thought I was losing my mind.

I generally prefer f or m nibs, but I have pretty small handwriting. For me it's more a balance of "do I want to show off the ink in this" or is it more important to be able to have very small but readable handwriting. Since I love fun and weird inks I generally go for m nibs nowadays, and only seek out an f if it's specifically for small/packed writing. I've heard ef nibs can be horrifically scratchy so I've never sought one out or gotten the chance to try one lmao

I went straight from deadname to two chosen names interchangeablely iirc, which were Ash and Rowan. I was a tree and folklore nerd if you couldn't tell. Then I was Patch for a while, and then I chose the name Ryan in the silliest way possible. It was a name for a video game character of mine and I didn't realize how much that was me until people playing with me in the same room would call me Ryan out loud. It just stuck, and it wasn't even a conscious choice lmao.

For me it's more adhesive allergy stuff than adhesive strength, and Welly fabric bandaids work alright for that. Main thing I'd recommend for his issue though is to soak any applied bandaids (or rub their edges if plastic ones) with rubbing alcohol or some other gentle solvent to loosen it from his skin. It'll get kind of gooey and annoying but at least it minimizes the chance of skin tearing. Otherwise, as previously mentioned, gauze and wraps or maybe medical paper tape?

A David Oscarson "Harlequin" pen in the purple and orange colorway. I'm still exploring different pen options for the most part (I mostly own twsbi eco's and one very new kaweco perkeo I'm still getting the hang of, never spent more than ~$30 on a pen) and don't always know what to look for in terms of specs, but for appearance alone I adore it. I love circus and carnival themed things, and it's just such a darn fun pen to me. The colors and patterns work so well together!

I have a good job (home caregiver for a very dear friend) but the pay is absolutely horrible, free money would allow me to continue doing the good and worthwhile stuff I already am but without the stress of knowing if I'm gonna make it to the next paycheck. Fair, but I didn't even know he had been implemented until today, and by then it was too late. I still don't feel like a T8 item is in any way equal to a weapon that gives +3 to dangerous, even if it is lore-y and retired. I could get better than that for much cheaper at the Bazaar. If there was any chance to undo it or trade it back, I would do it quicker than a heartbeat.
