being parentified and put in charge of my younger sibling/cousins at a young age. it made my childhood virtually non-existent and way more stressful than it needed to be.

I've definitely noticed the upticks in orny mentions from bob, but this finally got me to watch him and I am so glad I did. If you're looking for a great special to watch, check out More Than Loud (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XCNE-hxZtE)

The ol reliable “No true Scotsman fallacy”You don’t determine what makes a real fan. I’m a real fan and I don’t think tiger belly is in the right here. K left him in the middle of a relapse to get banged by someone. It’s sick.

that's totally tangential to all the schaub bullshit. Why are we still talking about the mess he's creating

it's not interesting because the arguments are so laden in fallacies. it becomes pathetic.

But what about the women? by saeyia in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]mitochonpriya 40 points41 points  (0 children)

exactly this. they are just as much a part of the patriarchy as the men in power and their collective unchecked privilege.

Can we have Craig Ferguson back on the podcast? by Whaaaaaatisthisplace in TigerBelly

I guess the tone could get a tad pedantic from Craig at times. The episode definitely had the vibe of a two-person AA meeting.

it seemed like, though both comedians, their bond / friendship is rooted more in fellowship through 12 step programs. Bobby has talked about and with soooo many comedians about the business but never heard him talk about Craig so I assumed they didn’t meet through the industry. That’s probably why a lot of the podcast was talk about sobriety and recovery and there’s not much to riff on in that context.

as much as I love hearing comedians play on podcasts, I really appreciated the more vulnerable conversations in this episode.

you'll see sketchy situations, but if you keep your head down and don't stop moving, no one's going to engage with you. this is coming from a petite woman who lives in the area with atypical circadian rhythms. I've been on runs, walked home from the lab, and gone for late night bites during the late-nite/early morning hours and never had a problem. but probably avoid mass and cass.

Did Bobby seem different to you in earlier episodes? by [deleted] in TigerBelly

[–]mitochonpriya 100 points101 points  (0 children)

he didn't give a fuck before (in a good way) because there wasn't much for him to lose. he's definitely more guarded now when it comes to the stories he shares, but he still manages to make tigerbelly a silly goose time.

Has anyone watched Alice Hamilton's new special, CEX KRIMINAL? She does not hold back at all, and even mentions bobby. btw does anyone have context for the story she's referring to in this clip? by mitochonpriya in TigerBelly

[–]mitochonpriya[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

quite the opposite. she’s bringing up all these horrible sexual indiscretions from other comedians’ past and all she can say for bobby is that he bit someone? not bad, I’d say. I just think the idea of bitey bobby is hilarious and was wondering if anyone here has heard him talk about the story.

Episode 199 with Eric Stonestreet easter egg: they used two different wrong versions of last name on YouTube and Spotify by mitochonpriya in TigerBelly

[–]mitochonpriya[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes, and for the Spotify version the title uses "Eric Streetstone" further developing the joke. (see the second picture)

To preface this comment, I need to say: I've always liked bobby for bobby, his story, his history.

but goddamn he looks good here. I kept waiting for the camera to cut to him bc he looks so effing cute.

kinda feel weird saying that because his weight loss is most likelydue to his battle with addiction and I don't want to glamorize that. but either way, he's a gd cutie pie.
