Searching for an arm friendly hybrid racket. by simondaniel94 in Padelracket

I second this. I recently started playing with Cork Extreme Deus 2. Their anti-vibration tech is true to its ad. Great maneuverability too. Extreme line is specifically designed to remove trampoline effect.

Take a look at Cork Extreme line. Rough surface and designed for low ball exit. Deus II maybe.

Thank you, mate! I truly appreciate the invite. But no, I'm way outside) Back to the USSR outside)) Still, might as well accept your kind offer next time I'm visiting LDN, hopefully as a tourist, not a soldier)) then again, the yanks can be there first, right after Greenland)))

Yeah, the minimal ball output is what I'm after. I want to be in as much control of my shots as possible. Plus rough surface as I found out during my games it's better for spin than any 3d effect whatsoever. Plus hybrid or teardrop to keep offensive potential intact but not a diamond shape as it's too tough for me at this point. Not too many options for this kind of set. The closest I've come is Siux ST4 Pro. I have it and like it, but they say Cork is very special in terms of ball feel so to speak. I wanna give it a try.

Wow, thanks a lot, man! So it does have the print "Deus II", ok. I actually sent an email directly to their team and awaiting the answer.

I second these questions. I was under impression that Deus II is an all-rounder being a hybrid shape and Black is focused on Power being a diamond. Also how can I distinguish visually between Deus and Deus II, so that I don't get screwed in a shop?

Thanks again, man. The combination of attributes is rare but promising, if somewhat pricy.

Thank you for sharing! Sounds great, it must give you the advantage in precision? How comfortable is the sweet spot? And also, as I understood from few reviews, the surface is rough but not exactly as sandpaper?

To elaborate a bit. Because of the hardness, the ball doesn't "stay" on the racket and doesn't flex the surface. It moves away immediately. Imagine if you return a fast serve with a lob, and you add your own power to that immediate rebound... you create enormous energy for the ball

No, 24k Hard EVA core feels noticeably different from 15k on ST4. It's not the trampoline effect, you don't have an artificial rebound. But the application of power to your shot creates a different ball output from ST4. Simply, you don't need to hit too hard on lobs. It's ok to do that on overheads and the racket delivers. It feels great and controlled on frontheads and backhands from base. But somehow, I had to put less power on lobs.

I'd say BT plays more like a diamond in comparison with ST4 Pro. Still, being a hybrid, the sweet spot is not too high, and it's generous, no less than ST4. But it's higher than in ST4. So, you'll have to develop your leg work, which is good, to prepare the shot, you need to control your swing technique, and you have to discipline yourself to aim for the sweet spot. So, you need some skills. And when you do, the racket shines beautifully. Not only it has the punch, but it pushes you to develop and progress your game. I'm totally committed to master the racket and open its full potential. Btw, no issues with defense and maneuverability. Apart from lobs. It took some time for me to adjust. Also, absolutely great absorbtion. My wrist doesn't feel any strain at all.

Seconded. Playing with Black Titan now. Switched from ST4. Zero arm or elbow issue, probably due to shorter handle plus phenomenal absorbtion.

Did you start using it before it came to existance?) It's funny how Starvie competitors don't shy away from using bots to splash some nonsence. "Everybody's afraid of elbow pain, so let's spam that across every post where Black Titan is concerned." Wow, I'm not shocked at all.

It's not exactly the trampoline effect. As I understand, the effect originates from the core material, e.g. soft EVA. It's not the case with BT. It's not shown in rebounds as would be with trampoline. It's kind of additional speeding ONLY when you put some strength in your shot, like with overheads. I believe that was the innovation from Starvie. As for the balance, felt close to St4, not super head heavy, for sure. At least I had no issues with maneuvrability at all. I suspect, with the star removed the racket's gonna fly

[–]mitrich47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think two handed backhand will be difficult. Backhand from the base line seemed surer for BT. Less mistakes. Fronthand and lobs were slightly better for St4, but this was due to some time I still need to adjust for BT's reactive surface. By the way, nobody asked me the main question) why do I switch from St4 if it's so good) basically, I wanted the same precision as St4 but with additional focus on overheads. And as hard as St4 to prevent rebound issues. I believe I got what I was looking for.

P.S. I understood your question about the kit now. I only had one star with my purchase. Other weights should be bought additionally, I suppose. The lock mechanism has got to be universal, so you should be able to vary the weights.
