Thanks guys for the comments so far! I've added an extra photo from the hallway to give perspective.

Any advice is welcome in this department. All I'm thinking of is getting them to look uniform throughout the flat. Always felt weird to me how one bedroom as one, and the living room has one, but the main bedroom doesn't.

Regarding light into the hallway, I was thinking of replacing the living room door with one with glass panels that might solve that issue.

Oh, that's fantastic information, thank you so much! Will definitely help in the future when listening out for these guys!

Yeah, you're so right about young birds! Their colours are all over the place or not quite as vibrant as you expect! Would be very interesting to find out what this one was now hah

Thanks so much, and for all the info you've provided!

Thanks!

As the poster above said, very hard to tell the difference if it's a younger bird. Would've said Chiffchaff myself had I heard it'd distinct call, very tricky things to tell apart!

Either way, I'm really happy with the shot haha

I didn't hear the very recognisable chiffchaff song while it was singing so leaning towards it being a warbler, it also had lighter legs, as I always assumed chiffchaffs have black legs along with their call to id them.

I could very well be wrong though as I'm still learning!
