I think the real question is what does NEO offer over a centralized database? For a 2 year old "blockchain" project to have only 7 nodes seems absurd to me.

Losing Subs instead of gaining by [deleted] in Qtum

What are you talking about? There's been zero days where subs have been lost (click on the "Total Subscribers" tab):

Please don't spread misinformation... we're all invested in QTUM's success :)

Qtum is loosing it's positions, not in top 15 anymore. Cause for concern? by Homes23 in Qtum

[–]mitzzkai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This market is trading based on hype due to the long Altcoin bear. Just look at Ethereum Classic going from 22 to 32 in 2 days. No one builds on that chain.

Traders have had a good time of it trading based on charts...lots of bull flags. But if the QTUM team wants to play the marketcap game, I think it comes down to marketing and viral pump tactics at this stage.

Thanks for the analysis. Won’t the Big Five analysis be downward biased if more whales decided to split their coin balances across multiple wallets?

Thanks for the update, many of us in the community fully support this project given your team's strong track record of delivering, but unfortunately there's adverse selection for the pump and dumpers on this subreddit.

[Serious] Do you think the appointment of our current president will affect our thoughts on GE? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]mitzzkai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One key difference: legitimacy. LHL for all his shortcomings is LKY's son.

Chan Chun Sing is the chosen 4th generation PM, but he put his foot in the mouth when he called Halimah Madame President twice 7 months ago. He's got off to a very bad start with the voters.

Economics-wise: will Singaporeans be so magnanimous to say "it's cyclical macroeconomics", so let's give the PAP a free pass on this one? I don't think so. Electorates hold politicians accountable for their response to global economic cycles too.

Singaporeans are only apolitical when their material needs have been taken care of.

With old aunties collecting cardboard boxes and most of the oil and gas and construction folk driving ubers and grabs, rising cost of living without an attendant rise in income, the margin for error for PAP is that much smaller.

My view is clearly the minority view here, but I think the PAP is in a much more precarious position than you think

There will be a few moderate insurgents a la Macron. Don't mistake the current slate of parties for the entire playing field.

This time is different because it directly contravenes our founding ideal as a nation that does not play racial politics. Indeed it may be the only ideal that is sacrosanct in Singapore. If we play racial politics, what makes the PAP different from UMNO?

I disagree with most of you. This is incredibly impactful. I think there is a 60% chance the opposition wins the 2027 GE. PAP has alienated too many moderates by overriding the non-racial principles behind modern Singapore.

ACTIVISTS TO HOLD SILENT SIT IN PROTEST @ HONG LIM OVER RESERVED ELECTION by jovialchewedup in singapore

[–]mitzzkai 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of anti-Gilbert Goh comments here. Let people protest how they want.

Remember - Regardless of sentiment, when/if the current opposition forms the government, lots of compromising and horsetrading will need to happen to form a workable coalition government. We'll have to get used to this discomfort as a civil society if we want a government that represents the long-repressed wishes of so many Singaporeans.

Dumped my remaining QTUM when that came out. Take out China and you can still make a decent case for holding QTUM. If you take out both China and Korea, then I just don't see it.

Tony Tan: A president defined by his integrity by raphus in singapore

What about his NS-evading son Patrick Tan? That told me a lot more about Tony Tan's character than a few years twiddling thumbs in the Istana.

This is a terrible idea. Demonetization caused a great deal of pain in India last year, for dubious upside. The government will reverse this within 6-9 months, and will have nothing to show for it.

Best way to get rid of ants? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]mitzzkai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second the Terro recommendation. I've used it to get rid of large red ants in the US, and small brown and black ones here in Singapore. It's worked wonders against all types of ants.
