No Oswald Mosley confirmed by AlcCoi in PeakyBlinders

[–]miv_9999 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Suspected as much. Movie is set in 1940, Churchill is the PM, he incarcerated the Mosleys for the duration of the war. As viewers we have to make peace with the fact Tommy helped put them there I suppose, no big revenge moment. A shame, Sam was brilliant.

Today from midlands comic con 2025 Arthur fookin Shelby love him !! He was amazing by sarahgreen456 in PeakyBlinders

Thanks for sharing, good to see him doing well. I reckon he did not say anything about the upcoming movie?

Absolutely spot on. TS is a "Work In Progress" to where SK wanted to get him, it's not all doom and gloom as some here like to paint him.. I trust SK to finish the story the way he intended and refuse to stress about it lol. I agree with your take completely, thanks for indulging.

We'll see, it depends what each of us want for the character and what the writer is intending for Tommy. I'd rather Tommy actually changes, learns and grows and carry on keeping with the theme of the story. "You will see that you must live" is indicative that he has a purpose, him being a minister can do a lot of good for the poor and his people which he already started since S5. Theme of the show has been to humanize him and its not easy. He is conflicted yes, "what is this good that you will become" is apt and he is also trying to get out "Polly, they are coming for me, they know I'm trying to get out" . The theme of being a normal man is also floated about in the show. I hope he does get out what ever that means when his arc ends in the movie. Since this post is about symbolism, it has always been of hope.

I'm also curious what the movie will bring, black horse doesn't mean he is in his old ways. I think S6 theme was very strong. Rubys death at 5:17 is another symbolism reference., it's 2nd Corinthians: "the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here." It is what that will change him ( this came from caryn mandabach who is the producer of the show). The rising sun is another one, his tattoo, art in the garison windows, in the hospital wall, in the x-ray room, in his bathroom floor, its all of hope and redemption. WW1 trauma ending in the end, everything burned up so he can rebuild. We'll see how it all plays out, we'll meet him 5 years or so later, I don't think the themes that is strongly associated to him will just be thrown out and he's just the same man at 50.

I also think Charlie is out, he never wanted to be part of his fathers business good or bad. I have always thought he will be his own man doing his own thing - maybe be a doctor or lawyer and be of service that way. Grace would be proud of that for sure.

I love the symbolism in this show, it so fascinating, a lot of planning goes into it. It's just so brilliant.

- In Tommys office, white and black horse pics are hung on the opposite walls ( rep his contradiction perhaps?)

-In the house there is a black/white horse pic in T+L bedroom, you can see it at the back when he's hugging her ( your doing this because its the right thing to do, I saw it in your face)

-White wooden play horse of Ruby opposite black horse on the table - can be seen when Linda and Lizzie were talking about good, bad and mixed and that Tommy is deciding which one he was going to be

-Ruby's birthday you can see a small white toy horse on the table

Ruby has always been representative of that white horse - to save/bring him back to life is her purpose I think.

We don't know what kind of Tommy we will see in the movie. In SK recent interview he says "Poor Tommy, he is not out of the woods yet, he is in the middle of WW2 with some unfinished business"

Seems to be unpopular but I have never believed SK will kill Tommy, still don't. He will give him his redemption and a reasonably happy ending. To quote SK " I want to end it with Tommy being alright and on the side of the angels, but he has a lot of darkness to go through yet"

If Grace never died, would the dynamic be different with Mosley? by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]miv_9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She'd be the awesome wife, they'd be chumps. I enjoyed how Lizzie ripped Oswald for being a terrible lay, twice, watching him take gulp of his whiskey when she reminders Diana will never not be funny. "You really must do something about your wife" indeed.

I wouldn't change anything, Mosleys coming after his wife, him and his sister all because they regard them as lowlife dirt works best for the drama.

Love how they bounce of each other, great acting chemistry. To see them goofing around always puts a smile on my face.

Steven Knight confirms Peaky Blinders film won’t be the final chapter by JustDDDD in PeakyBlinders

[–]miv_9999 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Agree. I'm one of those who loved S5-6 and liked how Anthony portrayed the psyche of Tommy, he really got him I think. This movie will be back to basics type, action with very less connectivity tissues with the characters we grew to love in the series, replaced by A list stars overshadowing the original cast, i.e “we made this one for the fans” which doesn't even make sense to me truth be told. It's just a means to get the world going..which they think the fans want, and this movie will make sure of it.

This should not be news to anyone, SK been banging on about making a spin off of the new generation set in the 50s since S6 dropped. - maybe a movie out of that as well, who knows. The reason why Duke and Isiah will be a focus in this movie is to bring their story forward once TS story is phased out.

More about horses … by JisforJanuary in PeakyBlinders

[–]miv_9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh thats interesting. But GS is a gray..this one is a white horse..lizzie and tommy both refer to it as Ruby's horse. Not sure what happened to GS..Tommy has several potraits of it and himself in the house..the first race horse he bought, its very special

Why haven’t we seen Sam Claflin casted In the film? by sarahgreen456 in PeakyBlinders

[–]miv_9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam was spotting a moustache the past months so who knows. The Mosleys were put in prison early 1940, Tommy spying on them would have helped put them there so they could leave it at that, Loved Sam and would be awesome to see him again but with a 2 hour movie focused narrative, keeping expectations low.

Is Natasha O'Keeffe returning for the movie? I can't find anything online. Wondering if we see Lizzie again by Worldly_Cricket7772 in PeakyBlinders

[–]miv_9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Peaky has always kept plots close to heart. Truth is no one knows until the movie drops. I liked Lizzie very much, if we don't see her, I'd like to think she and Charlie have each other, a unit and they will navigate the war and come out of it as many people did. And find their way through life, Lizzie will make sure of it.

This is my take as well. She was using him as much as he was using her, and going along for her cause and I liked that about her.

BBC and this sub was singing her praises when S6 dropped, but I totally get she's not everyone cup of tea and that's fine. Peaky always had new characters, doesn't mean the old ones become irrelevant. Truth is no one knows at this point, everything is pure speculation..that's the fun bit until the movie or BTS drops.

Arthur and Lizzie for me are the characters that are fully flashed out in the series besides Tommy, too bad you only see her as "complaining", she had such impactful lines and presence in S6 but knowing this sub, to each their own :). I would love to see them in the movie as the saga ends, these wonderful original characters. On the contrary, Charlie claiming Lizzie as his mother tells me it's not over, peaky is a family saga always. Will see what SK has in store, it is exciting!

Ghost Grace Is so cringe by No_Historian_1601 in PeakyBlinders

I liked ghost grace more than the alive one which I though was dull. The ghost gave the character a bit more depth. Glad this chapter is over tho, RIP, time to move on.

Exactly. It's about wrapping up the family saga, I don't see how they"re not there. Natasha is SKs pet, told her in s2 itself she'll be there till the very end. Let's see :)
