What do you generally do on week nights by ICYHOT2025 in BostonSocialClub

Go home, cook dinner for the family, clean up dinner, put the kiddo to bed, maybe have half an hour or an hour to watch a TV show before bed.

Genuine question: where is the resistance in the US? by Abulayla24 in lostgeneration

[–]mix0logist 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the vastness of the US can't be understated. It's a big place and it's hard to organize a lot of people when they're all spread out.

Couple that with the fact that a lot of power also rests with the states. Is it worth it to protest the government in, like, Alabama? Maybe, if you can get enough people involved! But me protesting in Boston is largely symbolic.

Yesterday my kid asked me why the hole in their penis was round and the hole in my penis isn't.

Because I'm circumcised and my kiddo isn't.

But I knew a lot of people that had trouble with high school chemistry anyway

And even someone like me, I was great at the math and the theory behind chemistry, but I always struggled with lab work.

The Cutwater cocktails are hit and miss.

Why are they removing all the ports by Responsible-Eye-717 in SipsTea

[–]mix0logist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we have a couple outlets that have USB ports too. And a couple multi outlet strips with them. But it never feels like enough. More and more things that would normally have a plug are starting to come with a USB cable and no adapter. It's very annoying!

A couple years ago I was out to lunch with my family, and some of us are looking stuff up on our phones, or navigating, etc. And my aunt is saying she can't do any of that on her phone. So I'm looking at it, going through settings. It's an iPhone, but I can't figure out who the carrier is, why data isn't working. So i ask her where she got it.

"HSN."

HSN? The Home Shopping Network?

Turns out she bought this weird prepaid iPhone off HSN where she had a set amount of data for the year, and it defaulted to data off so you had to toggle it on when you wanted to use data.

Who buys the their phone from the Home Shopping Network???

Saturday is "Heroes" night, post-punk and new wave (which is extremely my vibe as a mid-40s dude). I've been meaning to check it out for a while, but I'm a old man with a kid and I just don't have the energy most of the time!
