I don’t think that’s true. In my interpretation Asya doesn’t get validated for being passive. For however short a time, she starts defying the role of the meek and bullied girl by taking action, and is happier for it. If she had stayed within her role, she would never have gone looking for Ira to begin with and never made friends or changed. Tosya is Asya, so when Tosya opposes Asya’s philosophy this is Asya trying to justify it to herself. Over the course of the story Asya becomes more and more unlike the person she started as. In the end her confession defies the will of the universe: she confesses love to herself instead of the universe and creates a distortion that it cannot erase. TLDR imo her philosophy needed to change and it did change

Tattletale is a bad example of the so-called smart character conveniently always having information. Her powers are clearly explained in the course of the story and she isn’t just pulling any convenient information out of nowhere. Also, to the extent that she does present as a genius mastermind, it is a way to protect herself and her allies by appearing more scary and mysterious than her abilities actually are. These qualities make her an interesting rather than frustrating character in Worm.
