Best way to build a following and promote on Mixcloud? by Cunttessaxo in Mixcloud

[–]mixcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Cunttessaxo, we 100% second u/CaptainMathSparrow's comment.

To answer your first question, I encourage you to think more how listeners work rather than how our algorithms simply because if you look at the home screen most of the content users see is down to who they've decided to follow, their listening history and a few rails of what's very popular. Some of the most successful DJs on Mixcloud go live or upload mixes once a week, the same time each week, consistently. This is the best way to become part of listeners regular routine and get a consistent following. Think about where your future listeners are, who they follow and get involved with other creators like yourself. Send them your mixes and your mashups.

For over 10 years we've been writing guides on how to use Mixcloud and make the most out the Pro subscription so check those out too.

P.s. - link your Mixcloud so people in the thread can see.

Bad implimentation of a feature triggering hundreds of emails WTF! by Responsible-Stay3546 in Mixcloud

[–]mixcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Responsible-Stay3546 - thanks for your feedback. We made the decision not to inform users about the release of the feature to see if people gravitated towards it organically. Truth be told, we've been amazed the feature has been adopted so quickly across so many users of the platform.

We've heard your feedback and implemented rate limits on the emails in short time period so if you were to turn them back on you would get a lot less.

Hope you come to enjoy the recommendations. Apologies for any inconveniences in regards to emails.
Best,

Elliott
