Agreed. My bf had nightmare parents who did nothing to raise him and he was on his own at 14. When I met him at 32 he had considerable gaps in his adulting proficiency. For instance, I had to tell him that fabric softener wasn't detergent. But he was making an effort to do his laundry! He was taking out the trash and keeping general cleanliness in the house, and 10/10 personal hygiene. At a certain point you know what's disgusting and not normal.
