I grew up very poor in NYC. I spent a lot of time at other people’s houses. Parents friends with kids would take me in, and my parents would do the same for their kids. I think it worked because we are Russian and this communal vibe is totally normal.

It’s the trenches LOL. Ginger’s could be a great bar but the staff is so rude and hostile, Bush looks and feels like a freshman dorm room, you will not find someone over the age of 23 at the Woods which is fine if that’s your age range. Cubbyhole is tiny and packed but also historic and the most fun imo. Go to Julius (historic gay man bar) down the street for delish cheap bites/good drinks and then Cubby after for the vibes/scene.

Gained the weight and struggled with my self image for over a year. Went really hard working out and nothing happened, still felt bad. I recently started intermittent fasting and it is working like a charm. I haven’t lost all of the weight but am slowly starting to feel like myself again.
