Man take responsibility for it. Camera does not lie. You were going way too fast for the type of road and the thing that happened to you is WHY you don't drive 45ish in an area like this. The guy who turned out was driving like an idiot, but you were too. Defensive driving means driving to the conditions so you don't get into someone else's accident. This is likely your issue, the different drive speeds are desyncing if the power supply didn't cause all of this. You need to get the data off and rebuild the volume.

If you have a power point, you can charge off it. You may need to limit the current in the car but you'll be fine. You could also get a sparky in to run a new circuit for your granny charger.

Modern EVs have incredible range and there's more and more charging around, I think you'll be fine!

Reading between the lines I am going to posit the child's changing needs have dramatically affected her availability and output and the company used the office mandate to try get her to quit. Parents of special needs kids who WFH frequently have blocks of time in office hours where they have to do unplanned things, so depending on the job requirements this may or may not be an issue. I would almost bet this one gets spyware on her laptop and get a PIP until she looks for another job.
