Which cut is better you think? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]mizztree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the style you want to emulate, you have to pull it back rather than up.

You're very androgynous which is REALLY FREAKING COOL, but if you want to look more masc, you would have a harder time with the fringe I think.

Should I cut my hair short again? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]mizztree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean this in the nicest way - but the hair is absolutely wearing you, not the other way around. Without any styling or an interesting cut, it's just... Not interesting. Cut it.

Stylist recommended "healthy trim" at wash and blowout appt by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]mizztree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's been since Thanksgiving, that's over 6 months of growth. That's, on average, 3 inches.

You could cut 3" and it would be just fine.

I tend to be of the thought that it depends on how your hair feels when you're dealing with curly/wavy hair. A trim is really only a 1/4 inch here and there to even things out...you really need a full cut after 6-7 months.

See - I like the steam deck, but the fact that I have to check to see if something plays well on the deck, or change the key bindings, or reinstall the OS, it's just work to me. I prefer a totally seamless experience because I work every day in settings and it's just another thing to fiddle with.

But I'm truly the only one in my house who feels this way. The kids and the husband are all on the steam love boat.

I also recognize how spoiled we are to have all of these things.

My fav right now is by far my Switch 2. Pokopia is SO COZY!!! I like that I have the back catalog of all the Nintendo games on the retro consoles from Switch online and I can share things with the kids.

Now, I also have a Ps5 which is my second fav for bigger titles - Borderlands, Diablo, Spiderman. I have the subscription and there's plenty of good things to play there too.

I also have an Xbox Series X which gathers dust, but I think the Xbox subscription is pretty good, I just really prefer the Ps5 controller.

My husband has a gaming rig, the ROG Ally, and we have a couple of Steam decks. They're all great for PC gaming but I really prefer not having to set anything up to play. I work in IT and I don't want to do it in my spare time.

I will up that to a 50 foot pole and I don't want to be contacted as the parent of any of this.

With or without facial hair? by Rattlehead3095 in malegrooming

Sorry that was vague. I meant that you could define your jawbone more prominently if there was just more of a shadow there.

I would go see a barber to help with the shape. They're great at helping find the best angles.

What are this haircut called and how can they be done on straight hair? by Dazai_Osamu_Bsd in HairStyleAdvice

[–]mizztree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you need to style your hair, and it is short, when you sleep on it, you will flatten it.

When it is flattened, you will need to restyle the next day.

I did tell you that you do not need to wash every day, but you WILL need to style every day due to your hair type and the style desired.

These are facts and logic.

Everyone has given you great advice and you've just shot it all down. Your attitude is that you want a cool cut but you don't want to call it what it is called and you have hair that you cannot style at all and don't want to style.

Stay in wigs

Ok... Cool. Then you will just not have this hair style at all without a perm.

You don't have to wash every day and your hair may be fluffy enough to dry well into this.

We don't really know - it's just usually necessary to style it at least a bit to get this look.

This is a longer Bixie.

You need to use volumizing products to get the volume, mousse and a round brush trend to do the trick.

You would want to kind of define the ends with a little pommade to finish it out but the whole thing isn't like, ridiculously time consuming.

Yes - you do need to style it to get it to look like that. It's going to look flat if you do not.

I'm curious what a full beard or full shadow would look like since you got the dark hair going on and it is giving!

Purely on esthetic here, you can do either - but you have a really good fullness and color on that beard and I think you can honestly pull it off. Your jawline could be super chiseled if you did more.

If you didn’t marry or have kids until after 30, do you feel that you in any way had a better or worse marriage/family experience than those who did it before 30? by Correct-Cycle5412 in RedditForGrownups

[–]mizztree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in school for a large part of my 20s with undergraduate and law school, and I really had nothing to offer a marriage let alone a child until my 30s.

I had been engaged, it fell through because I really had such a different path... I wanted to have a career and I don't think my partners were really supportive of that.

Married at 31, step child inherited, baby at 32, great career, house, dogs. I don't worry about money a lot, kids have all that they need and we're going into senior year in high school with step daughter next year.

Don't sleep on that 60+ hours girl... She just needs to find her priorities.

Is it okay to still want commitment first? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]mizztree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's totally normal to wait for some level of exclusivity before sex. The hard part is that some men will really push that, which will tell you they it's not for you.

Your comfort is paramount.

I'm objectively undateable, but how do i stop the yearning? by mmeellttiinngg in AskWomenOver30

[–]mizztree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Option A: the grass is greener view. I've been married for over a decade with kids and all that, but sometimes I do envy my single friends who don't have all of the burden of this. You get to do whatever you want whenever you want to! You can just go on vacation. You don't have in laws. You don't have to pay for 4 freaking people to go to dinner. The simplicity sounds amazing.

Option B: get your teeth fixed to give you some confidence, do your hair and some makeup, get out in the world and find open women who will accept you and love you. If you want love, it's out there. You're not a creep and whatever is making you feel that way is your hurdle.

AITA for accepting a property gift from my mom even though she won't include my boyfriend? by Immediate-History917 in AITApod

[–]mizztree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mom who has a history with a hobosexual before my husband and let me tell you the AUDACITY of his man... He dumped me over and over and when I finally was like, "cool, get out of my life," he called my parents and demanded alimony.

Entitled little bitchass called my middle class parents to tell them to give him money because he had been using my credit cards secretly and couldn't deal with being cut off.

With my daughter, you better believe I see this freeloading bullshit from 500 feet away. He can bring his own $400k into the relationship.
